I had tried Virtue products quite a few years ago. I do not recall why I ever stopped using them. I am embarrassed to admit that I am long overdue for a haircut and color as my hair has become more than a little unmanageable. My last haircut and color was a disaster. My hair is naturally curly ,frizz...

Tangles, but leaves hair soft...

I want to love this conditioner because in the end, it leaves my hair soft and shiny. But, it tangles my hair so much and causes extra work and potential breakage to brush it out after washing. Prior to washing/conditioning my hair, I completely brush out any tangles when my hair is dry. I'm not ove...

I love how this conditioner feels after use. My hair is softer and easier to comb. It helps repair damage from sun and heat tools. It is my favorite of the Virtue conditioners that I have tried.

As per my shampoo review for this formula, I felt like this formulation fell shy of my expectations given the price point. I fight frizz, dry ends, and lack of volume. Given that I color nearly monthly, and heat style, I keep a steady rotation of reparative brands to restore bonds and replace keratin. I LOVE the smell and the ingredients, but the results for me fell short of my expectations. It was really good, but not delivering on bombshell inducing volume, shine, or texture improvement. So is it a solid formula? Yes - my hair was soft, shiny, and was more moisturized. Did it solve all my hair woes? No. Is it so awesome it's worth spending money on this set vs shoes? Nope.

Product was too heavy for hair texture. The smoothing shampoo works best for my hair texture.

Q&A

Showing 5 out of 11 Questions
Q
Can I use this condition close to the roots?
Asked by LoriC
Official Answer By Virtue - Brand Engage
Absolutely! Virtue Hydrating Recovery Conditioner can be applied close to the roots, especially if your hair is dry, damaged, or in need of extra hydration. However, if you have fine hair or a scalp that tends to get oily, we recommend focusing on the mid-lengths and ends to maintain volume and movement. For best results, distribute evenly through the hair, allow it to sit for 1–3 minutes, and rinse thoroughly. Was this answer helpful to you
Q
Does it have a strong smell/fragrance?
Asked by Steph
Official Answer By Virtue - Brand Engage
Virtue® Hydrating Recovery Conditioner has a light, fresh fragrance featuring notes of coconut, yuzu, and tropical woods. The scent is designed to enhance the in-shower experience without being overpowering and generally does not linger heavily on the hair after rinsing. Of course, fragrance preference and sensitivity can vary from person to person. Was this answer helpful to you

Q
Does this gave protein in it?
Asked by Diana
Official Answer By Virtue - Brand Engage
Great question! Yes — Recovery Conditioner does contain protein. It’s formulated with our Alpha Keratin 60ku®, a human-identical keratin protein that helps repair and strengthen damaged hair. Because it’s bio-identical to the keratin naturally found in your hair, it’s able to bind directly to areas of damage and help restore hair over time without causing the buildup that can sometimes happen with traditional proteins. ✨Was this answer helpful to you
