It Does Give You Hella Thicc Lashes

I received this product in exchange for my honest review This Fenty Hella Thicc Mascara definitely gives you fuller, hella-thicc lashes but I'm not completely sold on the technique. First off, the packaging is great fun, different, and creative. Second, they made this in a brown shade, which is wha...t I personally use, and I love that it feels more inclusive. I have some unusual blue and purple undertones, so black mascara can wash me out and look a little too harsh against my skin. I will say this shade is a bit darker than most brown mascaras I've tried. It leans slightly burgundy, whereas I expected something cooler toned, but overall it ended up being a really great match for my hair. Application was interesting. The brush is definitely bigger than what I'm used to using these days, and I found it a little messier than I would've liked. That said, if you accidentally get a little product somewhere other than your lashes, it cleans up pretty effortlessly with a cotton swab. The one thing I didn't love is that the "hella thicc" effect seems to come from the formula leaving small deposits of product between the lower sections of your lashes to create that fuller, fanned-out look. For me, it read a little clumpy. In the end, I separated my lashes out, which took more time than I would've liked but the final results actually looked pretty good. I wasn't sure if this was going to flake throughout the day, so I really put it to the test: eight hours of errands, driving, tanning, red light therapy you name it. I didn't see any flaking at all. And if you want to yell at me… yes, I accidentally fell asleep in my makeup. It did flake a little by the next morning, it wasn't terrible and my lashes still looked surprisingly good. Although it's cruelty-free, it's not labeled gluten-free or soy-free, so those with allergies may want to double check ingredients. It's also not vegan. Overall, I'd give this an 8/10 solid mascara, great price point, and definitely one I'd recommend.
