Remove excess water from hair. Apply a small amount, focusing on mid-lengths to ends. Leave on for a few minutes, then rinse well for 30 seconds to prevent excess build-up. Leave in for 3-5 minutes for deeper penetration.

For reference, I have very thick , 2C , mixture of porous and nonporous, highlighted blonde hair. Right away this product feels like oil when pumping into your hands. It leaves a coating of oil that you cannot rinse out. This shampoo weighed my hair down immediately. I always shampoo my hair twice...
