Q&A

Q
Does this new foaming pomade have the old formula. I compared the ingredients of the "soft style foaming pomade to the ingredients in the new foaming pomade. Please answer honestly what makes the two different. The old formula before the soft style pomade years ago was the best. I wish you never had changed the old formula of pomade. When you did that inone of your pomades worked the same for my hair.

Official Answer By Paul Mitchell
You shouldn't notice any change in performance with Foaming Pomade. Occasionally, ingredient updates occur due to regulatory changes, naming adjustments, or availability. These updates ensure our products remain safe, effective, and compliant. We also continuously refine our formulas to uphold quality and introduce innovations. Was this answer helpful to you

There have been no changes to this formula. It always contained a medical grade white mineral oil. Please discontinue use and consult your physician. Contact us at wecare@paulmitchell.com if needed. Was this answer helpful to you

I have bought replenishment before running out!

I always use after a good wash or condition in the shower. Apply to wet or damp hair, air dry or blow dry, and curls are more defined and moisturized (not crunchy) and typically lasts me about 12 hours! :-)

Honestly, I am not sure why there are so many good reviews!?

The only reason I gave this 2 stars is because it does get rid of all the frizz…other than that, this is the worst PM product I have ever tried! I have used this for months, applying it different ways, and no matter what I do my hair gets greasy looking and my scalp gets itchy. It weighs my hair dow...

When will you be selling the smaller bottle of the foaming pomade? I like to take a bottle along when traveling and the 8.5 oz. is too large. Please bring back the 5 oz bottles. Thank you!

I've been using Paul Mitchell's Foaming Pommade for a while now, and honestly, it's one of those products that makes you wonder why you ever tried anything else. The first thing I noticed is how lightweight it feels—no heavy or greasy buildup, just a soft, natural finish. A little goes a long way, and it smooths down frizz instantly without making my hair stiff or crunchy. The packaging is sleek and practical, with a pump that makes it easy to get just the right amount. The scent is light and fresh, giving a clean finish without being overwhelming. The hold strength is soft and flexible, perfect for taming frizz and adding shine without making hair stiff

I've used this product for years. My mom used to use it to tame my curls when I was a kid and a hair model for Pro-Line (Just For Me). I use it now more as a touch-up pomade or to smooth frizzy edges. I love the scent. It lasts quite a while since only a little bit is necessary for sleek facial framing. It would be good for guys' hair or shorter hair in general. Maybe even useful for hard to hard-to-tame bangs. Better for thick and curly hair since it can be a little heavy and hydrating.

Best product out there for my 3a/3b

Ive been using this foaming pommade for many years and typically purchase 2 to 4 bottles at once. Ive tried other products but the shine, curl definition, and anti-fizz factors are amazing. I add a little WEN hair oil treatment to soften the curl on wash day and there is no need to refresh my hair during the week. Wear a binnet a night to protect the curls
