Dermalogica Dynamic Skin Retinol Serum

I was using sunday riley retinol for a year and constant issues with breakouts and cystic acne whike using, as soon as i switched to dermalogica dynamic skin retinol the breakouts stopped and my skin started glowing. I pair this with the clearing serum and the collagen banking serum.

Confusing reviews on this product so I figured I would do the world some justice and let you know how this product really is. For starters, its definitely the best product I have ever tried. Never did I ever imagine I would buy a $100 skin care product once, let alone twice. I hate the price tag but I will keep buying it. It is a retinol, so yes, you will likely dry out at first. It should not be used nightly, you have to work up to that. I started with twice a week for two weeks, then every other day for 3 weeks, and then daily. You will probably still get flakey for little bit, you will probably have the typical acne purge that happens with any retinol. It is very worth it to get passed that drying and acne phase. If youre slow and steady enough, you might be able to avoid it. I dont know why people in the reviews are claiming this is a hydrating product. Maybe it feels hydrating the moment you put it on, but its a retinol. It is very important that you use moisturizer with this. If your skin is extra sensitive, I would apply the moisturizer before the serum. Once you build a tolerance and you want to absorb more product, then under the moisturizer. This is the only product that truly can make your sebaceous filaments disapear if used correctly, not even joking. It is pretty crazy how tiny, nearly invisible, your pores will get if you use this product consistently for a few months. I receive so many compliments on my skin. It definitely made my skin look better than anything ever has. I took a break from the product over the summer because I was using tanning beds, but it should be fine in the summer otherwise as long as youre applying at night and wearing sunscreen. Despite how it can reduce lines and wrinkles, I do not put it directly under my eyes. I have found it worsened those wrinkles, the skin is iust too thin. I am going to attempt to push through and see if consistent under eye use will make it better. Because its drying at first, it can make all of your fine lines look worse before they get better. Consistent use completely eliminated my smile lines, but they got much deeper and worse before they got better. I use clinique moisture surge and it is not enough to battle the dryness you will face from initial use of this product. There were times I was slugging with aquaphor or cerave healing oinment every night to fight the dryness, it can make your makeup look pretty bad with how flakey you can get. Its a retinol. The best solution I have found for this is patting on 3-5 drops of squalane over top of my moisturizer and retinol every night (I use the Ordinary squalane). Like I make sure my face looks extremely greasy before I go to bed, other wise I will wake up with very flakey gross skin. After a few months your skin will adjust, and itll definitely be worse if you live in a colder/dry area. I dont need to slug like this in the summertime, only winter. It is a pretty awesome product. I will probably use this product until the day I die. Its worth buying. Dont stop just because of the initial acne purge and dry flakey skin. At worst this will only last 1-4 weeks and then you will have perfect glass skin with an amazing complexion. I guess I forgot to mention how much it fixed my acne hyperpigmentation. I am very pale and I had a lot of red marks from acne picking over the years, it completely got rid of that. Definitely give it a try!

I used this at night only. I was excited to use this but after 2 months no difference. I had the same issue with the multivitamin product. Will not be buying again. For reference I'm 45 and have always been oily.
