Start with dry, detangled hair. Work in clean, manageable 1-2" (2.5-5 cm) sections. Glide the barrel down each section to the ends and roll hair onto the barrel. Hold for several seconds, then gently release hair by gliding the brush through the ends until the hair releases. Repeat for all sections.

I usually don't write reviews, but I have consistently had such a horrible experience with this tool that I feel I need to warn others. Engineered to get stuck in your hair! Recall this!
No no no honey. This is horrific! Let me preclude this review by stating that I am actually a dedicated loyalist to Drybar as a whole. I thought they could do no wrong. Then when my thermal brush ended up not being a good fit for my hair type, I went to purchase this as a replacement. It's supposed to be very similar, and used in very similar situations, and ways. I researched the proper ways to use it, which is unique and honestly also cumbersome. But I followed those directions to a T. I was so careful and methodical, but…. my hair still got stuck in this! I had seen all of the previous reviews on all platforms, with tons of people stating how their hair got stuck no matter what they did. But me being a brand loyalist, I thought "I can fix her!", and I arrogantly thought they just weren't using it correctly. But I did everything perfectly to a T, and I took 5x longer than normal to use it, and my hair still got stuck multiple times. And I stupidly didn't even give it up after the first time it got stuck! I gave it more tries! And it did it again and again. So here's the summery. Look at my up close pictures of the bristles. This is a design flaw. This product needs to be recalled for being engineered to purposely snag your hair, whilst it's all wrapped up in a really strange way that it demands you wrap your hair up into it. You simply cannot combine grippy silicone bristles, with a pointed arrow tip with a cusp neck that traps the strands, combine with high heat of a curling iron! You can't do this! The silicone grips. The arrow tip traps. And the high heat burns! I super damaged my hair from 1 day of trying to use this. I'm now in recovery mode after the effects of this monstrosity, and it's all packaged up for return already. Also my shower a day after using this, I had the most insane amount of hair fall! About 5x my normal amount! I was, and still am, mortified. I'm pleading with Drybar to actually recall this at this point, so more loyalist to the brand don't stupidly buy this like I did, convincing themselves that they can fix her. You can't fix her sis, she was designed to hurt you.

My hair is thin but I have a lot and I have soft curls. Got this to try because others are too thick. This one is perfectly thin and has the piece up top to help with curling. I think it gives off the right amount of heat. I do it with my hair completely dry. I had much less hair on the brush than when I've used the thick brush with the other bristles.
Great heated curling brush!
This is a great curling brush. It combines the ease of a curling iron with the smoothing of a flat iron. The teeth of the brush are a firm silicone that doesn't break easily, but strong enough to manage a medium to large bunch of hair. I'm so glad I bought this, and may buy another for a backup.

I used this product for the first time i tried to pull my hair down into it and curl up and instantly my hair was caught in it. After an hour of trying to untangle my hair out I ended yo having to cut 8 inches of my hair off
