whenever they put the brush on the whats new area, i ordered it and it just came today! i was waiting for elf to come up with good contouring brush like nars because they use synthetic bristles. this one is so soft to be synthetic though and i was like hmm i hope this is not real hair but i don't think it is. if anyone from E.L.F team sees my comment can you please answer if it is synthetic? like i said i just received my order and i cannot wait to use the brush!
I've been trying to find a really good all purpose contouring brush for cheeks, nose, and jawline.
I had seen reviews on YouTube and blogs that the Ultimate Kabuki Brush was a little too wide for chiseling contour on the face so when the Contouring Brush was released I was hoping it would be a touch more narrow. However, its too narrow. It's hard to blend out and soften your contour with this brush. The dimensions of the brush head itself are 1/2" Deep and 2 1/2" Wide. Not bad along the sides of the nose but terrible for the cheeks and jawline. If you have a very small face and features then you just might love this but for my average face and features this brush is very ineffective. It IS very soft and seems better quality than some of their other brushes. Some of the e.l.f. brushes can be a little scruffy and scratchy but these new white tipped bristles are incredibly soft; they seem to be a combo between the sparser stippling bristles and their denser bristles so you have a really nice in-between density that works great for a number of different purposes (I also have the Ultimate Blending Brush with these same type of bristles and density).
As far as contouring goes I've had the best result with e.l.f.'s Angled Blush Brush; it fits perfectly in the hollows of my cheeks and along my jawline. It is a touch too big for along the sides of my nose but I can make it work by just lightly stippling my contour color where I want it. The Angled Blush Brush also blends and softens nicely. It's a much better all in one brush for contouring.

Wish it was a little more free flowing to avoid the contour looking harsh but I guess the brush is okay . Wouldn't buy again, I usually like elf brushes but this Is not one I would rebuy

It's precise. It works well to place contour under the cheekbone or along the jawline.

Shipping took longer than expected but overall the product was great

I feel like i used it wrong to fairly judge how well it works

Good shape and useful, but not as dense and fully packed as other drugstore brushes. I knew it wouldn't be quite as good as my Luxie one, but I will get a Sonia Kashuk or Real Techniques as a backup instead. I do think it will work well for powder, but not cream products.

I was apprehensive about buying this. But I needn't be. It's really good quality. Products excellent results and will last a long time.

I bought this but didn't use yet but I did use my foundation brush from elf it was really nice

I swear by this brush. It is so easy to buff out the cream contour and blend it in. I am new to contouring (a bit over a year now) and I don't see myself ever changing brushes because it does wonders!

Amazing brush for contour, love it. Bristles do not fall out and just smoothens out contour

Soo I like this brush but my main problem is how badly it sheds. I haven't had it that long & it already looks patchy cuz it's lost so many bristles. I'm really glad it wasn't an expensive brush cuz I would be very upset with how badly it sheds.

My main con is that the handle arrived broken. The brush itself is a bit stiff and lays a harsh contour

I've had so much trouble trying to master contouring and this brush made it super easy! Very soft bristles as well.

I'm new to contouring and this brush has helped me so much! It makes it so much easier to apply the contour correctly.

I have a round face, so I'm always carving out my cheekbones, which makes my face look thinner/less round. I love this brush for getting right along the cheekbones with bronzer...it's the perfect shape, not too thick or thin, the bristles are stiff enough to really place the product there, but also easy to blend out. You also can't beat the price! This brush is also great for contouring right along the jawline, for the same reasons!

As a square-faced stage performer, I have to work really hard and need a lot of contouring product to soften those hard angles and edges. I am often frustrated by how my contouring would either be barely noticeable or end up looking muddy from being worked too many times without enough impact and precision. This brush is very dense yet soft to pack a good amount of product on then buff it out. I feel like I have more control with this brush. Just make sure to have a couple of shades to create a gradient effect. It may not be suitable for everyday makeup, but it works when I need it to. And that's all that matters.

I like the shape . it is good to contour your nose. However, the top part broke after two uses

A very densely-packed brush that works for concentrated application of cream contour/bronzer. I don't reach for it too often as it usually results in a bold look and is really difficult to clean (because of how dense it is) but it works well whenever I do use it and would recommend for those looking for this type of brush.

Great for contouring.

Finally a contour brush that allows an amateur to contour like a pro. This dense brush delivers the product with precision right where its needed. I was previously using my finger to do this. I am able to contour all the areas including the nose by using one edge. This brush does is not intended for blending, so I use the regular contour brush to blend the product out. The result is a beautiful line that truly defines my face!

I bought it 2 years ago and now the top is a bit loose even though I wash my brushes carefully, but still works well. I apply my nose contour with it. It picks up the pigment and apply it really well. I love that it's affordable. Also, no hair falls.

Love the way this works but it almost feels as though it is going to break from the base to the brush. I almost wish it would just fall off already so I can gorilla glue or hot glue or back correctly

This contouring brush works very well in contouring your face. Blends nicely!

I just used this contour brush for the first time this morning and WOW! I would classify myself as somewhat of a beginner when it comes to contouring and this brush made it so easy. The angle and straight line on this brush made it super easy to apply and get my powder contour exactly where I wanted it especially on the sides of my nose. I then went in and blended it with my ELF foundation brush. I would highly recommend this brush especially if you are new to the contour game!
