    Q&A

Showing 5 out of 6 Questions
    Q
Is this more warm or ash colored?
    Asked by TalynL
Official Answer By dpHUE - Brand Engage
Thanks for your question! Color Dream shades are generally formulated to be neutral in tone unless otherwise noted in the shade name. For example, Cool Blonde has cooler, ashier undertones, while Golden Blonde leans warm. Shades like Medium Brown or Light Blonde are designed to be more balanced and neutral. For the most accurate results, we recommend checking the swatch imagery and product descriptions, and doing a strand test to preview how the color appears on your hair before full application. Let us know more about your current hair and goals—we’d be happy to help guide you to the best match! Was this answer helpful to you
    Q
I just used the light brown and love it! I'm using it over permanent salon color and have about 2 inches of regrowth that is 50% gray. Can I put this color on roots for 20 minutes and then cover whole head for another 20 minutes? I can't use permanent color anymore and want more gray coverage. Thanks
    Asked by Sandra
Official Answer By dpHUE - Brand Engage
We're so glad you're loving the Light Brown shade! Since Color Dream is a demi-permanent color, it’s designed to add tone and shine, but it won’t fully cover gray hair. It may help soften or blend your grays slightly, but those strands will still be visible, especially around the root area. Applying it to your roots first for more processing time is a good idea if you’re hoping for more even tone, but the coverage will still be subtle compared to permanent color. If you’re avoiding permanent formulas, Color Dream is a gentle option that can enhance your overall tone while keeping your hair healthy-looking. A strand test on your grays is the best way to preview how the color will take and help you decide if it gives you the look you're going for!Was this answer helpful to you
    Q
    Will it cover gray hair?
    Asked by Nina
Official Answer By dpHUE - Brand Engage
Color Dream is a demi-permanent color, so it won’t fully cover grays. It can help blend and soften them, but grays may still show through—especially if they’re resistant or bright white. Was this answer helpful to you
    Q
Could you use this in a balayage way?
    Asked by DEB
Official Answer By dpHUE - Brand Engage
Yes! Our Glossy Glaze formula can be used to add tone or depth in a balayage technique—it’s great for enhancing dimension with a soft, natural finish. For best results, choose a shade that matches the lightest part of your hair to ensure even blending. When in doubt, we recommend consulting with your hairstylist to help select the perfect shade. Was this answer helpful to you
    Q
Can this be used in a balayage way, because it's a subtle product, it won't have that demarcation line?
    Asked by Deb
Official Answer By dpHUE - Brand Engage
Yes, the Demi-Permanent Kit is ideal for soft techniques like balayage. It gently enhances without creating a harsh regrowth line. Was this answer helpful to you

Product Review: dpHUE Color Dream Light Brown Demi-Permanent

As someone who loves the balayage look but dreads frequent salon visits, I've found the perfect solution in dpHUE's Color Dream Light Brown Demi-Permanent Hair Toning Gloss. Good gray coverage for some hair types

I have black, low porosity, kinky (4c) hair. This product was fairly easy to apply. The only things that weren't clear were how to get one of the tubes open (you have to use the lid to puncture the seal) and what color the mixture should be when ready to apply. These things weren't explained in th...

Probably not going to purchase a 2nd time.

Easy to use and easy directions. Not the choice I'll make a 2nd time. Saturation and color distribution is not even and full. Didn't see enough change for the cost. Better luck with less expensive competitor.

    Purchased for a little "refresh"

My hair was looking dull and my color had grown out since last having it done. I have an event coming up and couldnt get into the salon for a color last minute so after looking through reviews I decided to DIY it with this stuff. It definitely darkened my hair and made it more uniform in color (and shiny).

    Just go to the salon

For the money - this product isn't worth it. It's supposed to help you buy time until your next salon visit - just go to the salon. It literally dud nothing except make my hair feel soft - which could be done with conditioner alone.

It gives a lovely natural color. Just wish it didn't fade as quickly as it does. I am a red head and I know that various other products often fade out quickly for us gingers but like how the color doesn't leave my hair looking over processed.

Short review: product did not cover my gray hair; the smell was mild and pleasant to me; the hair felt mildly conditioned after use. Would not buy again!
