- Blend of five ceramides (np, ns, ap, eos, eop) - lipids that help maintain skin's natural function, reduce moisture loss, and protect against dehydration, irritation, and signs of aging
- Lipids (fatty acids, cholesterol, & squalane) - support skin's natural moisture barrier - to help seal in moisture and provide a barrier against external aggressors
- Ceramide precursors (caprooyl phytosphingosine + caprooyl sphingosine) - molecules that work to encourage ceramide production and receive new ceramides

Can I mix vitamin c powder into this? (Not the whole bottle lol, i mix before each application.)
- Asked by Stacey
- Official Answer By cocokind - Brand EngageHi! Thanks so much for checking. We generally don’t recommend mixing like this. Our ceramide barrier serum is carefully formulated to support your skin barrier at a specific pH and balance. Adding pure vitamin C powder (which is quite acidic) can shift that balance, potentially making the formula less effective and more irritating—especially if your skin is sensitive. If you’d like to use vitamin C, the best approach is to apply it separately (either as a pre-formulated vitamin C serum or mixed with a product designed to handle actives), then follow with the ceramide barrier serum to help support your skin. Was this answer helpful to you

Can I use this with a peptide serum and in which order? Thank you!

- Q
Is this fungal acne safe?
- Asked by Punpun
- Official Answer By cocokind - Brand EngageHi! The FDA considers fungal acne to be a medical condition, so I can't give product or ingredient recommendations specifically for that. We recommend seeing a dermatologist for fungal acne as none of our products are formulated to treat it. Our ceramide barrier serum is suitable for all skin types, including breakout-prone skin. It supports skin’s natural ceramide production and provides deep hydration. We also recommend the postbiotic acne serum. It treats and prevents acne, blackheads, and clogged pores. It also hydrates and supports skin barrier. You can use both serums together although it isn’t necessary. If you would like to use both serums at the same time, we recommend applying the acne serum first because it’s lighter than the ceramide serum. Was this answer helpful to you
- Q
Should I use this on dry or damp skin?
- Asked by emcdona7
- Official Answer By cocokind - Brand EngageHi! You can apply our ceramide barrier serum on either dry or damp skin, but we do recommend allowing to dry for 1-2 minutes in between application of your products in your routine. Was this answer helpful to you
- Q
Is this safe to use under the cocokind retinol?
- Asked by b
- Official Answer By cocokind - Brand EngageHi! Our ceramide barrier serum is an excellent product to pair with our beginner retinol gel in your nighttime routine, providing hydration and barrier support through the ceramide serum. We recommend applying retinol before serum, but if you’re super concerned about irritation, you can apply retinol after the ceramide barrier serum to act as a buffer between your skin and the retinol. Follow up with daily SPF during the day to avoid sun sensitivity. Was this answer helpful to you

Just Okay
I've been using this product regularly (at night I'm about 2/3 through my bottle) and follow the instructions. I use the raspberry toner (which is amazing for breakouts btw!), let it dry a tad and then apply the ceramide barrier serum followed by the polypetide moisturizer. I honestly haven't notice...

Just give it a try.
I've been through many rounds of medical treated skin problems since I was 19 years old. This serum is PERFECT for phases of a broken skin barrier. If you're confused about the purpose of this serum, it helps to nourish and restore the barrier back to its natural form: healthy. It helps my skin feel calm and hydrated. However, I do recommend getting a separate serum for hydration IF you have chronically dry skin like me. I do not primarily use this for hydration purposes, but I do think this would work great for people who have a normal to slightly dry complexion.
confused how this has five stars ???
Caused me to have painful acne after using it a couple times. I then retried it and got the same result. Then passed it onto my sister and after her first use it turned her face immediately red with a hot burning sensation.
Caused Burning and Ruined My Progress
I thought because it was advertised as great for sensitive skin that i would give it a try. I am fair skin, have rosacea and am incredibly sensitive to a lot of products. And unfortunately, this is now one of them. I tested it and within seconds, my face thrned bright red/pink and felt like it was melting off. Please be careful if you decide to purchase. I understand everyones skin reacta different, but if you have been struggling to make progress with getting clear skin and deal with something like this, you'd understand why Im so disappointed. It set me back and made all the progress I had made just useless.
Different formula??
This was my holy grail, probably my 8th bottle by now. I took a break trying corex peptide serum which was not as good as this serum so went back to it. I was excited to get my skin back to that plumb moisturizer look this had always provided. I do have sensitive ance prone, dry skin, but I never had this serum burn, tingle, & leave red blotches before. After reading other recent bad reviews saying the same thing, had to share my disappointment as well. Cocokind is usually great & affordable but now I'll probably have to spend double on a similar product without the bad reaction. I thought my skin was the issue but my skin reacts fine with my other products so my skin barrier can't be messed up. Loving the corex mask! Def helped while not having a regular moisturizer.
Just wow!!
My face and neck have been freaking out lately due to histamine reactions and I've been trying so many different products to try to get my skin to heal. This is so incredibly so soothing on my face, just brings instant relief and I don't know if it was coincidence or what but the next day my skin looked a lot better! I am really impressed!
