Most Helpful Positive Review In love I finally bought this dryer after months of reading the reviews and justifying the cost. I have long thick hair that takes forever to blow dry and straighten. I dread the process!!
I used this blow dryer for the first time this morning and loved it!! It dried my hair evenly & quickly. My hair was not a massive frizzy mess once it was dry. I would invest in this product and the product line again and again.
Note: So the ulta store in my area has 20% off coupon out right now, hence why I bought it now. I went to check out and the clerk told me it was not good on Dry Bar brand. I was bummed but wanted it anyways. As she rang me up I mentioned that I had seen on the online reviews that people had used this coupon. Well sure enough she did a price check and scanned the coupon and it worked! We had to void and redo the transaction which saved me $50! So don't be afraid to ask them to try the coupon 😉.
Most Helpful Critical Review Regretful purchase I purchased based on such great reviews. I hated the color but decided I could live with it if I loved it. I was surprised at how heavy the dryer was, especially with the attachment on. The cool shot bottom was not easy to press or use and the buttons were in an awkward place on the handle. I kept turning the dryer off accidentally. Also, the cool shot button was not cool enough for me. The filter cover was hard to take off. It didn't dry my hair any faster than my old 1875 watt Revlon which I had for 5 years. I have overprocessed, coarse but thinning hair. If my hair were healthier this may have given me better results. I only noticed a slight difference overall but not enough to keep it. I tried it twice before returning it. It's just too pricey to justify keeping it. I believe with the right drying techniques such as using a roundbrush and the right products like Kenra's blowout spray, you can achieve great results with most any hairdryer without spending a lot of money.
Reviewed by 317 customers Favorite blowdryer!! Great company! 5
Miranda from Portland, OR
I've tried lots and lots of different blowdryers in my life and this one is so dependable and does exactly what you need. I tend to have frizzy hair and it calms it down and straightens my hair without too much heat! It broke last month and started making this weird clicking sound and I contacted the company and since it was in the two year warranty, they sent me a brand new blowdryer! I was so impressed with the way they back up the name of their product and I'm excited to tell everyone I know how great they are and how great this blowdryer is! ♥️
Great heat but be careful 5
Tstrykes from Towson MD
This blow dryer works amazing just be really careful with how hot and close to your hair that you hold it I did a lot of damage to my beautiful hair with this blow dryer from holding it too close with it being too hot. But I have very thick hair and it does dry it very fast.
Love the output! 5

I needed something that would dry my hair fast!
Amazing 5
Gloria from Bakersfield, CA
I've used it a few times so far and love the way my hair feels. It leaves it soft and beautiful. I would recommend it people looking for a great quality blow dryer. It's also very lightweight.
My go-to hair dryer. Works perfectly even after a few years. 5
Lauren H. from Detroit, MI
This is my go-to hair dryer. Ever since I've switched over to DryBar's Buttercup hair dryer, I've noticed such a difference in my hair. It feels healthier, less fried and it has definitely improved my frizz and flyaways. I love how luxurious this dryer feels- especially for the price point. I've had this dryer for a few years now and it works perfectly still. I also really appreciate how easy it is to clean the lint out of the back of the dryer. Pro tip: use a lint roller to get all the fuzz out easily.
It's unfortunate 1
Healing my hair from Hesperia California
I really wanted this hair dryer, I bought it, went home and showered just so I could use it. My hair was feeling soft and I was happy about the purchase until I was almost done with doing all my hair… the dryer started screaming like a fan or motor broke.
Okay I get it sometimes there are faulty items, so I gave it another shot..
I went back another day and exchanged the dryer for another buttercup blow dryer.
I shower the next day and go to use it, half way through the exact same thing happened! I was so sad because I thought this dryer was going to be the hair game changer, but it's just not manufactured very well. I found other reviews AFTER I returned it that started they had the same issue. Save your money on this one and go with another dryer.
Doesn't Last 1
Terrible Hair Dryer from New York
Used this hair dryer less than five times and it overheated and fried. It was a terrible investment. DO NOT BUY!
Fried during the 4th Use 1
laurali15 from Edgewater, NJ
So disappointed, this was great for the first 3 uses. Then on the 4th use not even a minute in, it made a sound and started to spark. Waiting to hear back on Warranty.
Not The Best Investment 2
Dr. Lady from Srasota, FL
I first purchased this hair dryer based on the quality of the brand name. Initially, it was a very good hair dryer and I noticed that my hair was smoother and dried quicker. - needless to say, I was ecstatic. I used the hair dryer 2-3 times a week. Now that I have owned the hair dryer for about 2 years, there is a clearly notable whizzing sound that has been getting louder and louder coming from the motor area, and I am concerned that it might spark and cause serious damage. As a result, I have stopped using it. Consequently, based on the price and the amount of time that I have owned it, I cannot say that this air dryer was a good investment.
Not worth the money 3
Ali from Michigan
I've had $40.00 blow dryers that lasted longer and worked better than this one. I loved it at first. However, after about 6 months it doesn't heat up like it did at first. it also creates a lot of "fly ways" on the top. I have curly hair and I've been round brushing for years. I use thermal product to not cause damage and that still doesn't help. Very disappointing for the money I paid. Too late to return.
Will be returning. 1
RunNurseRun from WA
I had one of these that lasted a few years. I don't know if they changed it but there is literally no power to the blow dryer. Puts out plenty of heat but absolutely no power. I live over an hour away from the closest Ulta so taking back to get something else is really an inconvenience, but I will be getting something else.
Not what I expected 2
My hair has seen better days from New York, ny
It's a regular hair dryer. I had it for over a year. After a while of using it my hair has been dryer as in over dried hair; more split ends, frizzy, breaking, and damaged. It's too late to return but I'm definitely getting a different hair dryer. Takes the average amount of time to dry hair, it is not faster. It is also not light weight.
I gave it two stars instead of one because my hair dryer has not burn out as it has for other people.
Died first use 1
Jessica from Gilbert, AZ
I was only able to blow dry half my head when it started to make a screeching dying sound and then a frying electrical sound. I was so excited to use it and now it's been returned
Not the best 2
Claudia from Massachusetts
I thought it was awesome the first months and then it simply became less powerful and less heat. I've noticed that other people had the same issue. I'll bring it to the store and see if I can return it
Worked great for thick, waist-length, wavy hair 5
Little HK from Seattle
I was looking for a new hair dryer after burning out a motor on a 30 dollar one twice. I was willing to pay a hefty sum for something that works, but there are so many options out there I didn't know what to get. I finally landed on this one, because it got good reviews, and because why not... it was cute. I have very thick hair with highlights. My hair is waist-length right now and it naturally wavy so it's a bit course. It usually takes a lot of time to dry my hair. I live in a humid area, so to test the waters on this thing. I washed my hair. Left the window open in the bathroom (humid air), towel dry only to prevent water drip page, did not comb or brush and no products. I used this thing on the high setting and high heat. Didn't add an attachment and was able to completely dry my hair in 10 minutes. My hair is not frizzy, no weird dampness under all the thickness. I am very impressed. I haven't had it very long, but for now I would highly recommend it. And the cord is a decent length too which is helpful since my mirror is nowhere near my outlet.
Best I've ever owned! 5
GR from Alabama
I have had this blow dryer for a couple months now. I contemplated buying it because of the price, but am so glad I ventured out and bought it! I have super thick hair and it's had cut my dry time tremendously! It also leaves my hair looking super healthy and shiny so no further styling is required!
Returned it 3
DentalGirl from Rockford, IL
I ended up returning this blow dryer. I was replacing my Babybliss Pro and thought I would try a different brand. It was lighter, but the concentrator attachment was too wide for me and didn't give me the results I wanted. Returned it and bought the Babybliss again.
So happy I made this purchase. 5
Kathy from Philadelphia PA
I love this hairdryer. It was recommended to me by my hair stylist. It has cut down the amount of time it takes me to get ready in the morning. It also adds shine.
Big waste of money 1
Kim from Colorado
This is the most expensive hair dryer I've ever purchased and it burned out in the shortest amount of time. It just won't get hot anymore. I've had it for two years and I only use it once every 3-5 days.
Interestingly, for it being the "preferred" hair dryer of hair stylists, I've never met a hair stylist who uses it and I can't say it magically gives me a better blowout than any other hair dryer. It's the products you put on your hair before blow drying that determine the quality of your blowout. Don't waste your money.
Doesn't worth the hype 1
Antonsha from West Lafayette Indiana
It does teh same job as any regular hair dryer. Nothing different...
SEVEN YEARS 5
Emi from Utah
I have had this blow dryer for seven years! Before this blow dryer I was going through a blow dryer a year. It is amazing and durable, I can't say enough about it.
Amazing!! 5

I will love you forever 5

I just returned the Rusk speed freak and bought this. Day and night difference. It even comes with at 24 month manufacturers warranty. I love it and I hope it lasts forever!
Dryer fried after 1 year. 1
Tory from Salt Lake City
Loved this dryer at first. But then one day heard a pop and no more heat. Customer Service couldn't do anything for me. Even tried asked about getting a new heating element to fix and nothing. Big waste.
Excellent so far! 5
Kristin from Massachusetts
Only used it 3-4 times so far, but it's light and powerful. And it's pretty. Perfect.
