Most Helpful Positive Review The Holy Grail of Mascaras! I thought that Tarte's Better than Sex mascara was the one and only that I still do Love but this, regular formula, non waterproof kind, I rec'd in my Ipsy for August and OMG! Thee best Ever! I slept with it after applying about 10:00am and wanted to give it the sleep test, which I never do, but I woke up this am w nothing smudged, flaked and it looked as tho I had just applied it! I don't know what I'd do if they ever stop making this Perfect mascara!!! I'm going to stock up and buy one every couple of weeks so I never have that worry! I can't wait to try the waterproof one, too! It is as black as black can be, doesn't flake at all! I mean at all! No smudging and I have oily eyelids when I don't wear eyeshadows and I just can't say enough great things about this! Thank you Ipsy for I would have never have found this without you! Oh! I don't wear contacts but have very sensitive eyes and this doesn't irritate in any way! Curl that lasts until it's taken off, lengthens to my eyebrows! Separates and gives tons of volume! I've never wanted to bother w falsies and now I don't have to! Try it! If it's not for you, return it. But I bet you wouldn't dream of being without this after just one try! One coat is a more natural look; build it up for the ultimate lash experience! It's just the Bomb! I'm 53 and look wide eyed and bushy tailed w just this and some lip cream by Urban Decay, I own 16 lipsticks of theirs! And you're beautifully set for your day into night!
Most Helpful Critical Review Disappointed Love the brush, hate the formula. Too wet, very messy. Will not purchase again. Bought Maybellines full and soft mascara to replace. A third of the price and better than this!
Reviewed by 279 customers Worst mascara I've EVER used 1

I've tried so many mascaras in my lifetime. From drugstore brands to high-end. First of all, even I curl my lashes before applying, this weighs down so heavily on my lashes. I finish applying two coats and I end up with half curly and half straight lashes. It's too wet and smears everywhere. It's clumpy. Just the absolute worst. I wish I would have returned it within the 60 days of me purchasing it but unfortunately I just opened and used it recently.
You are better off using literally ANY OTHER brand than this. DO NOT BUY!!!!
Eyeko for the win. 5
Morganne H from Sarasota
Another lovely mascara. I really really like this brand for mascara. Much more than any other tbh. I've used all different mascaras ranging from low end to high end, from a dollar to 30 dollars. Eyeko has become a tried and true for me. I have been cutting back my spending by a lot and have found a lot of products that are not high end that I do love ... but I will always go the extra buck for something I truly like and this brand and mascara are one of those things.
horrible mascara 3
Breanna from Washington
this mascara does not lengthen, thicken, or separate lashes. It's so bad. Just throw it away
Too wet, no curl, chunky 1
Sarah from MAA
I hate this mascara!!! It's entirely too wet of a formula. It takes ages to dry (gotta wait a bit between coats), it leaves big globs of product, smears all over, and doesn't even help my lashes curl at all.
Do not understand the hype 1
marshymac from Charlotte, NC
Quite possibly the worst mascara I've ever used. It doesn't keep my lashes curled, doesn't add volume or length, and smudges so bad. It's literally the worst.
My all time favorite 5
JJ from AZ
I'm honestly confused by the bad reviews here because for me, this is my holy grail. I was looking for a cruelty free alternative to Benefit's They're Real mascara and this is it! For me, this doesn't fade or smudge (though I must say I use setting spray always!). It really lengthens my lashes more than any mascara I've used. It looks so natural and soft! If you're looking for volume and thickening, this isn't it, but if you're looking for a natural and lengthening mascara, this is it! I also like to use this one to blend in my natural lashes to false lashes. I was curious since it's in a tube, but found it doesn't make a huge difference. I don't get how it's messy for others? Anyway, give it a try!
Meh 2
Jax from Colorado
I've been looking for an alternative for the Thrive Causemetics mascara. I like the tubing concepts but wanted one that provides more volume as well as length all the while having staying power, no flaking, no smudging. This one smudges so bad on me and I don't even use it in my bottom lashes. The volume is lacking and it doesn't provide much length either...hence "meh"; will not repurchase.
Not sure how this has high ratings 1
Leah from Seattle, WA
I usually change my mascaras every 2-3 months, and although I have my favorites I still like to mix it up, trying a wide range of price points. My lashes are blonde, kinda short and sparse. I NEED volume, but my least of expectations is a mascara that doesn't run or flake. I got nothing out of this tube - no volume, separation, height. It was clumpy. I tossed it after maybe 2 weeks of trying.
Try the caffeine curl blue tube 2
Short lashes from Los Angeles
This formula just isn't it. It's moisturizing, didn't flake, didn't irritate my eye, nor did it lengthen, curl, or do anything to my lash that was remotely glamorous.
However I love their blue tube, caffeine formula. That formula is spectacular- doesn't budge, smudge, irritate, flake, etc and it totally curled and lifted and lengthened my stick straight short lashes.
Didn't last 2
DonnaG from Niagara Falls NY
This is the 2nd mascara from this company that came in my Ipsy bag, the 1st one was impossible to remove, and this one went on great, gave me long dark lashes, but an hour into my day it had worn off like I'd never applied.
Tubing mascara? 2
Kim from Dallas, TX
I was looking for a good tubing mascara for ease of application and removal and bought this based on the reviews. This mascara is not what I would consider a tubing mascara and caused under eye smudging. It did not remove in tubes with warm water like the others I've used and was not easy to remove like other tubing mascaras I've used. I think this may be a good mascara for others but I would not recommend if you are specifically looking for a tubing mascara.
Very dry and no volume/no separation 1
Sammie from Phoenix, AZ
This product was incredibly dry upon first opening. I had high hopes based on reviews. I ordered 2 during the 21 days of beauty sale when it was half price. Wondering if they were old or poorly stored which is why they were pushing product for such a low price.. Did not separate lashes or give any volume. Cover girl lash blast is already marked less than half this price regularly and performs more like a high end mascara than this brand, so that I do recommend!
Disappointed 2
Unicycle Girl from Grand Rapids, MI
I will be returning because it didn't do anything for my lashes. I have purchased better mascara for less than half the price.
A Perfect Gift! 5
Nazary22 from Vancouver, WA
This was for my sister, but I can't stop hearing about it and how great it is. She's in love and will definitely be buying more of this! Her work requires her to be up and moving all the time and she has long thick eyelashes which with mascara can cause them to be droopy. She says this prevents all that and keeps her lashes looking long and curled. Kudos.
Nice definition and curl, messy removal 3
Elizabeth from Charlotte, NC
This mascara applies nicely and gives good definition and curl. It doesn't go on clumpy and separates my lashes nicely. It stays wet a bit longer than I'm used to and therefore it's easy to smear it while doing the rest of my makeup. My biggest con is removal; it smears and flakes and is very difficult to remove. I'm used to my face wash removing my eye makeup, but this stuff requires makeup remover. Overall, it's not my favorite but it's a good reasonably priced option.
Great mascara! 5

It'sa great quality mascara. Would buy it again.
Not for me 2
L from North Carolina
I thought I was gonna love this but, it's just not what I had expected. It doesn't curl or even define my lashes, I prefer other mascaras over this.
Messy like your ex 1
Quesito from Alabama
I bought this mascara during Ulta's 21 days of beauty sale and let me just tell you I am so happy I did not pay full price. The mascara is super wet and takes forever to dry and since I can not go 3 seconds without blinking I got it all over my eyes. Once it finally dried it did nothing for my lashes except make them look darker. The L'Oréal telescopic mascara is 1000% better or if you are boojie the Lancôme mascara.
Nothing special and not worth the price 2
haneen from Chicago
I was not impressed with this product and would not recommend. I have long eyelashes and I needed a mascara that would give my lashes some volume and curl. This product didn't do either. The only positive is it doesn't clump. Loreal telescopic does a better job.
LOVE!! 5
Loe from North Carolina
A friend gave me this mascara to try and I'm in love. I put it on and about 20 minutes later I accidentally fell asleep (lol) I woke up expecting to have dark smudges under my eyes but there were NONE!
The next day I went out and got a tattoo which I laid on my stomach for... still no under eye smudges!!
The mascara isn't thick and heavy like my normal Too Faced go to. It's more of a natural look which I am all for!
Next time I need mascara I will be back for this brand!!
Very black, high volume, good length, awesome wand 5
Mandy< 3 from San Francisco
In addition to being really black, this mascara adds amazing volume and a really good amount of length. One of my favorite things about it is that it thickly coats the lashes without making them "spidery" or too spiky - like they don't stick together in clumps any more than they should ... if that makes sense? Because I want a LITTLE bit of that, but most mascaras that have that affect are just too much. Also, the shape of the wand being curved is weirdly and unexpectedly awesome. It might be in my head but I honestly feel like it makes it easier to use. I really do think it made it easier to get the product evenly distributed without having to keep adjusting the angle that I'm holding the wand... again, I hope I'm describing that in a way that makes sense. Because that's one of the most tedious and annoying things about straight wands - you have to keep shifting the angle and trying not to poke yourself in the eye or go over the same spot too many times. It's honestly in my top 5 mascaras. It's a contender, for sure.
No Flakes 5
Rsquares from KU
So far I really like it.
Not sure if me or the mascara 3
Erin from Georgia
So my mascara applying method is to use a curler a couple times at base and mid of my lashes, so I don't know how well it helps curl, and my lashes are long already but it clumps a little bit and I'm not sure if I did something to the brush but the brush like bent after a few times using it?
Not what I expected 3
Tabbymakesover from Ranson, WV
The product is a nice mascara but not at all what I expected. I expected a false lash look with an intense hue. Not what I get.
ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!!! 5
SK from VA
Lashes appear long and thick. Eyes have a more dramatic look. I absolutely will purchase in the future!
