Love the lipstick, not the color
I really like the consistency of this lipstick. It's not too heavy & not sticky like lipgloss tends to be. I only wish there were more colors available. I didn't think this shade worked well with my skin tone.

Since the first time I bought this lipstick I have LOVED it. I try to always make sure I have it on hand. The color is perfect for everyday wear and is so "light". Love the way it feels and look!!
NOT a lip color for "everyone"
I love tinted balms & I love Clinique lip products. I was ecstatic to try Black Honey because of all the reviews. When I went online to order I saw they'd recently added a second color Pink Honey. I would have probably been a lot happier with this shade honestly but it was sold out, so I went ahead & purchased the OG. I should mention I'm a redhead so I'm pretty fair skinned & I have very little pigment in my really full lips. The day my order arrived I wasn't wearing any makeup. So I try out my new lipstick & I was so bummed. It's super dark on my lips but really sheer & I don't know if the size of my lips had an effect on the way it looked but it was really uneven. Never one to give up easily I decided to try it again with a full face done. Still not flattering. I tried using a similarly colored liner with it. STILL didn't look right. I did finally find a use for the product. I don't care for the dryness of matte lipsticks but I have a few demi mattes in great colors. Black Honey works well layered over a few of them. It's not a bad product at all. It's just really not universally flattering at all. Works well on medium to deep skin tones but it's hit or miss in lighter tones.

I really enjoy the color of this lipstick, as well as the fact that you can build it up. That being said, it can be drying on my lips.

Been using this for years. Great natural color and moisturizing, too. Clinique products are the best!
