Is it normal to feel slight sensitivity on scalp after use, its almost a tingling sensation and im sure if uta due to the AHA and will subside or if best to return.
- Asked by Alondra
- Official Answer By Redken - BEHi there! Thank you for reaching out about our Acidic Bonding Concentrate Shampoo. While not every user experiences it, a slight sensation can occur for some individuals when using the Acidic Bonding Concentrate Shampoo. This is typically due to the Citric Acid (an Alpha Hydroxy Acid/AHA) in our Bonding Care Complex. Here is what you should know: pH Balancing: The shampoo is intentionally formulated with an acidic pH to help rebalance the hair and scalp after the alkaline stress of color services or lightning. This active rebalancing can sometimes be felt as a mild tingle, especially if your scalp is slightly dry or sensitized. AHA Action: AHAs like Citric Acid are excellent for sealing the hair cuticle, but because they are active ingredients, those with highly sensitive skin may notice them more than others. Should you keep it or return it? If it's a mild, temporary tingle: This usually subsides as your scalp adjusts to the pH-balanced formula and as you rinse the product away. Ensure you are rinsing thoroughly with lukewarm water. If you experience redness, itching, or burning: This is not a typical reaction. If the sensation is uncomfortable or persists after rinsing, we recommend that you discontinue use and consult a professional or your stylist. Pro-Tip: If you have a sensitive scalp, try to avoid vigorous scrubbing with your nails and instead use the pads of your fingers to gently massage the shampoo in.Was this answer helpful to you
- Q
Will this strip any toner that is on my blonde hair?
- Asked by KM
- Official Answer By Redken - BEHI there! Thank you for reaching out about our Acidic Bonding Concentrate Shampoo. No, it will not. In fact, it is specifically designed to do the opposite. Because toners are often demi-permanent and sit on the outer layers of the hair, they are sensitive to harsh cleansers and high pH levels. Here is why ABC Shampoo is ideal for maintaining your blonde toner: Sulfate-Free Cleansing: It cleanses your hair gently without the harsh surfactants that typically cause toner to fade or "strip" prematurely. Acidic pH Formula: The "Acidic" in the name refers to its pH-balanced formula. An acidic pH helps to seal the hair cuticle. When the cuticle is tightly closed, the toner molecules are locked inside the hair fiber longer, preserving your perfect blonde shade. Bonding Care: Blonde hair that has been toned is often sensitized from the lightening process. The Bonding Care Complex strengthens the weakened bonds within your hair, improving its overall health and ability to hold onto color. Brand Tip: For the absolute best results in color longevity and hair strength, always follow with the Acidic Bonding Concentrate Conditioner or Lightweight Liquid Mask. This system works together to keep your blonde looking fresh, vibrant, and incredibly healthy. Was this answer helpful to you

What is the difference in use between this and the Redken Extreme Protein shampoo that also says it helps with damaged hair. If I have thin, fine hair that is broken /damaged, would this or the Blue Extreme Protein Shampoo be better?
- Asked by CV
- Official Answer By Redken - BEHi there! Thank you for reaching out about our Acidic Bonding Concentrate Shampoo. This is a fantastic question! Both our Extreme and Acidic Bonding Concentrate (ABC) lines are powerful repair systems, but they work in different ways depending on your hair's specific needs. Here is the breakdown to help you choose the best "Blue" or "White" bottle for your fine, damaged hair: 1. Redken Extreme (The "Protein" Expert) The Technology: This line is focused on Protein. It uses our Strength Complex to provide internal structure to hair that is physically weak or brittle. The Goal: It’s like a "workout" for your hair—it makes it stronger and more resilient against future breakage. Best For: Hair that is literally "snapping" or breaking off due to physical stress. 2. Redken Acidic Bonding Concentrate (The "All-In-One" Repair) The Technology: This is our most advanced system. It uses an Acidic pH and Bonding Care Complex to repair the actual sulfur bonds that hold your hair together. The Goal: It provides intensive repair, deep conditioning, and color-fade protection all in one. Best For: Hair that is chemically damaged (from coloring or lightening) and feels dry or "mushy" when wet. Which is better for Thin, Fine, Damaged hair? Since your hair is thin and fine, we highly recommend the Acidic Bonding Concentrate (ABC) Shampoo. Why? Fine hair can sometimes become "over-protienated" and feel stiff or brittle if you use too much protein (like in the Extreme line). ABC provides a more balanced repair that focuses on the hair’s pH level. The Benefit: It will repair your breakage and damage while leaving your fine hair feeling incredibly soft, shiny, and manageable—without the risk of it feeling "crunchy" or heavy. Pro-Tip: If your hair is very fine, use just a nickel-sized amount. A little goes a long way with this concentrated formula! Was this answer helpful to you

My hair has soft waves and tends to be on the dryer side, I get my hair highlighted a few times a year. I have notices some split ends, which line would be best for me?
- Asked by Serea
- Official Answer By Redken - BEHi there! Thank you for reaching out about our Acidic Bonding Concentrate Shampoo. or your hair type—soft waves, highlighted, and experiencing dryness and split ends—the Redken Acidic Bonding Concentrate (ABC) is actually the perfect recommendation. It is our most comprehensive repair system and specifically addresses the concerns you’ve mentioned. Here is why this line is the best fit for your "hair story": Repair for Highlights: Highlighting is a chemical process that can weaken the hair’s internal bonds. The ABC system uses a Bonding Care Complex to repair those bonds, helping to restore the strength that is often lost during the coloring process. Moisture for Dryness: Since your waves are on the dryer side, you need hydration that doesn't weigh down your natural pattern. This formula is highly conditioning and helps to "seal" the cuticle, locking in moisture and leaving your hair feeling incredibly soft. Targeting Split Ends: By balancing your hair’s pH and reinforcing the fiber, the ABC system is clinically proven to reduce the appearance of split ends and prevent future breakage. Wave Protection: Because it is an acidic formula, it helps to smooth the hair surface, which reduces frizz—a common challenge for those with wavy hair textures. Our "Pro-Prescription" for you: The Shampoo & Conditioner: Use the Acidic Bonding Concentrate duo as your primary wash routine. The Leave-In: Apply the Acidic Bonding Concentrate Leave-In Treatment to damp hair before styling. It provides 450°F heat protection and extra reinforcement for those split ends. We think you will love how healthy and vibrant your highlights look after just one use!Was this answer helpful to you

Ruined my friend's hair color
I received this product free in exchange for writing a review. When I realized it's for colored hair, I gave it to a friend who recently got her hair colored by a professional at a salon. While using this shampoo. she saw the color coming out of her hair going into the bathtub. When she was finished...

It has helped my hair look and feel better.
Good, but not the best for thin hair
I really like this shampoo, but it's not the most thin-hair friendly. I would recommend using a clarifying shampoo every few days with this one if you have thin hair as it does cause it to look greasy after a couple days!
Redken Acidic Bonding Concentrate Shampoo

I have used this product for some time now. I have partial highlights, it does not change my highlight color and it keeps my hair soft and shiny. This product also cleans your hair very well and it does not take much.
