Not perfect for hooded eyes, but a good option

I received this product in exchange for my honest review. I received a full-size in the shade Dirty Martini. This is a retractable stick eyeliner with a waterproof gel formula, and it is double-ended with a smudging brush. The shade Dirty Martini is described as a metallic or shimmery olive. When sw...atched on my hand and moved around in the light, Dirty Martini comes off as a dark, emerald-green base with a strong golden sheen or flip head-on that ends up giving it the olive appearance—so on my fair cool skin and blue eyes, it balances out more emerald than olive/golden. The smudging brush's bristles are not cut very nicely compared to my regular eyeshadow brushes, and honestly is a bit useless because this formula sets down so quickly that the brush doesn't smudge it out. The tip is unique compared to other eyeliners I've used in the past, with an oval wedge shape that glides pretty smoothly (in comparison to a round or pencil tip). It's a good thickness for a wing or slightly thicker lash line look, but I did baby it a bit to make a thinner, more subtle line toward the inner portion of the eye and to use in the waterline. It's a beautiful color and it's a nice eyeliner to work with (especially for someone who is okay at eyeliner, but is no expert), but my eyelids are hooded and I always end up with eyeliner transferring onto my browbone or upper portion of my eyelid after about 6 hours (many eyeshadows also transfer and crease on me). This eyeliner was no different, even with the use of setting spray and/or setting powder. Using it over eyeshadow primer and eyeshadow versus using it with no primer did not make a significant difference in wear time for it. I will give it credit that the transfer was minimal compared to many formulas I've tried, but it transferred nonetheless. When I use it in the waterline, the smoothness and intensity of the color and particularly the gold sheen fades after the 6-hour mark too, but at least it doesn't transfer down under my lower lashes. In no universe do I believe this eyeliner would last up to 24 hours on my eyelids and still actually look good—it might be on my lash line after 24 hours, but it's going to be all over my browbone too. Overall I do recommend it, but beware that if you have hooded eyes, you may still have issues with slight transfer during long periods of wear. I'd be interested in picking up some other shades on sale or with a discount, since $26 is still a mid to high-end price for an eyeliner, I don't feel like paying full-price for a brush that is useless, and I don't wear eyeliner often because of my hooded eyes.
