finally! no flakes! (long rant abt lack of customer service)

TLDR: this is a great product! ever since tubing mascaras came out, its the only kind i like to use since regular mascaras seem to damage my lashes. ive been trying & failing to find one i like, because by midday they usually flake all over my face but at least my lashes dont feel brittle after usi...ng them. i recently switched back to a normal formula thinking that maybe all tubing mascaras suck. i have tried every brand from cheap to expensive & they all flaked off within hours of wear, (i dont wear excessive makeup - just some plain untinted moisturizer unless im going out then ill throw on a whole face of makeup) but when i saw UD was coming out with a tubing mascara i thought id give it one last try. this part is long & annoying, bare with me… i saw on ultas website this mascara was listed as "available" at my local store. so the week of christmas i went looking for it so i had something to wear for the holidays. when i got to the store, it was super busy but a sales associate still helped me & said they had just gotten it in, it was in back still so she would get it for me. after waiting in a line that was to the back of the store, i finally get to cash out, except it isn't ringing up. the sales associate at the register is talking on their radio, clearly new & not sure how to handle the situation. i tell them that the website said it was available at this store & someone had gone in back to get it for me. they then proceed to talk on their radio & tell me they cant sell it to me, but i can order it online & have it shipped to my house. ?! what…. so i just ask to talk to the manager, telling the manager im not trying to be a karen, but the website clearly shows it's available at this store AND an employee went in back to get it for me without a fuss (if it wasnt supposed to be sold, they couldve just said that at the start instead of going through the hassle of getting it from the back). the manger just kept saying i could order it online & have it shipped to my house… the mascara i was holding in my hands that the ulta website said was available in-store. i told her the situation was dumb & wasteful because of all the logistics of shipping an item i am holding in my hand. i kept reiterating i know it isnt their fault, but this situation is silly & makes no sense. i asked the manager if it isn't available yet, which again the website says it is, when will it be? because ill come back for it. the manager says she cant give me that info & just grabs the mascara & walked away. so i left because this whole thing took 20+ minutes out of my day & was a waste. a couple days later i went to a different ulta which had this product out on display, almost sold out, & bought it there. i casually asked when it came out, & she said "earlier this week" which wouldve been the same time i was at the other store. so if i could rate the customer service id give it 1 star, but after that annoying situation, i still give the product 5 stars. it only flakes off if i accidentally fall asleep in it & rub my eyes overnight.
