Most Helpful Positive Review Worth the hype!! I've always been too cheap to pay $20 for a blender when I can get one that works for $5. I'm not afraid to spend however much money on good makeup or even brushes but it just seemed silly to spend it on a little pink egg (spoiler alert:I was wrong!!). Well since they came to Ulta I was dying to try one and get it "free" when I cashed in my points recently. Now I'm in LOVE! It's so different than all my other blenders, it soaks up less product, it's so much bouncier and softer and it just simply works better imo. So glad I went ahead and got two! Ultas reward system really is the absolute best also.
Most Helpful Critical Review Advice: Don't Waste Your Money I was so excited to try the original Beautyblender. Being a budget buyer, I've used many Real Techniques sponges before I got around to finally using the original. Of course I expected it to be much better than the Real Techniques sponges.
There were a couple things that led me quickly fall out of love with my BB:
1. The sponge releases a lot of pink color. Pink has not stopped washing out of the sponge since I got it over a month ago. The only thing I use to clean my sponges is soap and water and it works totally fine for my other sponges. But for whatever reason, the water was always coming out pink even after I'd gotten every last bit of the makeup out. I even found pink color getting on my face from the sponge. That's a huge no-no.
2. The pores are HUGE and don't be surprised if you find an abnormally large pore or two on the sponge. Probably also the reason why it ends up absorbing and wasting so much makeup even after it's been soaked in water properly. I found myself to be using twice as much product as I did with my Real Techniques sponge.
3. Doesn't spread makeup evenly. I've actually found some knockoff sponges doing a better job of laying down foundation evenly and flawlessly.
My advice: Don't waste your money. Seriously. You're better off buying a Real Techniques sponge. Not only is it half the price, it also works much better, doesn't absorb as much product and definitely doesn't leave pink spots on your face.
Maybe if you've never used a makeup sponge before, you'd be wowed by the BB, but if you've used any other sponges, you know the BB could be so much better and isn't at all worth the hype.
So for budget buyers and non-budget buyers alike, save yourselves and get you a Real Techniques sponge. This nonsense isn't worth your hard earned money. Go buy yourself some good food with that money. Or another lipstick.

This is a great sponge but I gave it 3 stars bc of the price . F.A.R.A.H. and e.l.f. have GREAT sponges too and they're less expensive

This is an expensive blender for what it doesn't do. It does not blend well, because your product sticks to it. My makeup was streaky and clumpy.

I've always purchased real techniques beauty blender, (the orange one)because of the price point, I figured they do the same thing🤷♀️...No No ,No...this original PINK beauty blender is WAY WAY, BETTER!! It is softer and applies foundation around the eyes beautifully....

NOT worth the money. 3

I bought this beauty blender about a week ago. I also bought and used the cleansing bar. it ALREADY has a rip in it. and I take very good care of my products. especially when paying so much for something. the purple total sponge from elf is better and the only one I will be spending my money on from now on.
My MUST HAVE. ALWAYS! 5

I ALWAYS use my BB after using even the best foundation brush. It smooths everything out. Sometimes I use only my BB & it makes it easy to build coverage. I could never & probably will NEVER use anything else besides my BB for my Concealer again. I'm not into baking my under eyes, but I will "Spot Bake" after Concealer (or Cream product).
I buy this every month 5

I lightly spread the Tarte concealer over foundation with the wand, then gently tap it in immediately with my beauty blender. I've tried other brushes, sponges but nothing beats the original beauty blender!
i refuse to use any other beauty blender 5

A beauty blender is my go-to foundation applicator. I've tried to find dupes in the past, but there really is nothing like the OG.

Not an actual beautyblender, but one like it. Just wanted to let people know that sponge applicators that you wet can get moldy. I cleaned it regularly and always rung out excess water! Disgusting!
Unbeatable 5

This truly is the best beauty sponge. I've tried many different dupes and none have the same bouncy texture. Plus, it's super versatile in the ways it can be used.
Did not expand when wet 5

Beautyblender is hands-down my favorite sponge. I purchased one from Ulta.com a week ago, and it has never expanded. I always wet my sponges, but for some reason it didn't expand. This is the first time I've experienced this before. I've been using the Original Beautyblender for years now. I was a little disappointed. They aren't cheap either. Has anyone else experienced this?? Maybe it was a bad batch. Hopefully the next one I purchase will not disappoint.
Now I know what all the hype was about 5

This is great! I resisted buying it thinking it wouldn't be that special and not worth the money but boy was I wrong. I use less product than my Lancôme foundation brush and I get a much better result. I just love it. Well worth the money.

The beauty blender is soft and blended my makeup nicely!
what happened? 3
fred from los angeles ca
i've purchased several of these over the years. they've always been soft, blended perfectly, etc. but for whatever reason the one i recently purchased is so ROUGH. i don't know how or why it's changed. it doesn't feel like any of the beauty blenders i've owned before, and also seems to have way too much pink dye. it feels way too harsh on my face to use, which has never been an issue before.
i don't know what's changed, but this blender feels like a dish sponge. i'm not sure this is something i'll ever repurchase again despite doing so several times.

Yup, it's as great as it's hype. A great tool. Good tip: ALWAYS get your blender wet before you use it, and make sure to CLEAN it regularly.
Not all that great. Too much hype 3

Thank God I bought it on sale. I dont know what's all the hype. It's too small. blends like any cheap sponge nothing impressive. Ladies dont spend your $ store brand is probably better. I will stick to real technique sponges they are WAY better and def more affordable. Sorry

I've purchased many of the Original Beautyblenders from Ulta and have loved them. Recently I purchased one that appeared to be a much brighter pink, after rinsing under cold water pink dye filled the sink. I exchanged it and the new one did the same. Not only did the pink dye leak but my foundation did not apply as it had in the past.
