Most Helpful Positive Review Great additional SPF layer for makeup
The spray is refreshing and has great range. It keeps my foundation and blush fresh and in place. It is an ideal product to have in your bag, so you can spray throughout the day, if needed with sun exposure.
I have seen a few reviews commenting on the sunscreen scent. As a health precaution, I avoid inhaling SPF ingredients by spraying my face and immediately walking away from that space, holding my breath.
Most Helpful Critical Review Just okay
I really wanted to like this product because I like the brand a lot, however, I had this product for a few weeks and then the top started to stick and it became really difficult to use. I bought this to take on a trip to Florida and on the way back the product leaked in my make up bag pretty badly and I think it's because the packaging is faulty which was a real disappointment considering the price. The product itself is effective, not sticky, and keeps oil at bay however the scent is a little strong for my liking. I won't be re-purchasing this product mainly because of the price and because the Supergoop brand makes a better product that is less expensive and has a higher spf so I think it is a better value than this make up setting spray.

I know how important reapplying sunscreen is, but when you wear makeup you can't exactly smother sunscreen over your layers of foundation, concealer, blush, bronzer, etc. without it turning into a mess. I thought this was my answer. Honestly it wouldn't be so bad if it weren't for the SMELL. I did not get any burning or rash like other reviewers, but the alcohol smell of this is so strong I have to hold my breath and leave the room after spraying it. The concept is great but I think the formula needs to be tweaked.
My go-to sun screen
Korden from Colorado
This is my must have for sun care. I have melasma and use this to keep it from getting worse. I apply my spf makeup in the mornings and then throughout the day I will mist my face with this when going outside. My makeup stays fresh and this gives me the protection I need. It doesn't sweat off or run into my eyes unlike others.
Perhaps not 🤚🏼

I knew what I was getting into when I bought this spray, read all the criticism but gave it a chance anyways- turns out everyone was right. Honestly when first applied it burns for like a good 10 seconds and goes away and it also has this strong astringent smell that goes away fast too, but thinking about that fat price tag I just had to return it. It's not worth the money. I don't think something that's supposed to be beneficial to your skin should give you a burning sensation.
Works for me!
BeckyB from Arizona
I gave it a 4 only because it does have a strong smell to alcohol, but overall I really like how it helps my makeup set.. I only came to conclusion after trying different ways and the best way to make it work was to turn my mini fan on and spray coola in front of fan to help it dry as I sprayed! This really works amazingly after learning how to use and how ever works for you. We must remember that not all products work on our particular skin type.
Not for Sensitive Skin
Indigo from Denver, CO
I have relatively sensitive skin and so I was quick to notice the burning sensation it would give me. It would particularly affect me with my acne. I would feel fine on any other part of my face/skin, but the moment it touched an active breakout it would irritate and over-dry that specific area.
Not Worth a Purchase
Song from Colorado
There's such a heavy scent of alcohol. Looking at the ingredients it's pretty high on the list and I wish I looked at that before purchasing. It also tends to apply like hair spray. If any gets on my hair it does leave a residue and sort of drying texture. I appreciate the extra sun protection but not sure of how strong the actual makeup setting aspect holds. Have not seen any significant difference whether it holds my makeup better throughout the day or if it keeps it staying longer. Not worth the purchase.

My go to setting spray with SPF. I use it every day. Great when I sometimes forget to apply my sunscreen :)
CLA from OK
I'm all about protecting my skin, this looked like a good way to do that as I've been trying to find a way to add SPF to my routine. I'm not a fan, as I used it three days in a row and now have a rash on my cheeks and chin, almost resembling a chemical burn. Smells like hand sanitizer when you spray it, and the lid comes off super easy in my makeup bag which spills and wastes product. I like the idea, just not worth the burning skin.
Really wanted to like this
B from OC
I really wanted to like this product because i was looking for a setting spray that would give me an extra layer of spf, but I am so so disappointed. First, whoever said this smells good... are you okay? This smells like straight up rubbing alcohol and also burns (and no, I did not have any open cuts when using this). The smell wouldn't bother me so much if the nozzle of the spray bottle dispersed a nice, even spritz, but that's not the case with this. For this reason, I had to spray multiple times on my face and had to try not to breathe while doing it. I haven't been doing my makeup as much in quarantine so I'm not sure I can still return this product. Overall I think this was a huge waste of money and I do not recommend!
Buy a powder spf you can reapply instead

This had the worst smell! I only used it a couple times because I wanted to like it, but it was like I was spaying straight alcohol on my face.
Sets Makeup But Burns
MedicMer from South Carolina
This product does set your makeup as it says, but it also burns, particularly around the eyes. I've also had breakouts when I've used it. I prefer the refreshing water mist spray from this company instead even though that one is SPF 18. That spray does the same thing as this one without the burn or breakouts
Nicole from Illinois
I know everyone is different, and I've seen a lot of reviews complaining about the smell. For me however, the smell wasn't that much of a turn-off. Yes, there is a strong alcoholic smell, BUT it doesn't last, and considering how well this product has worked for me, it's a small con. The benefits outweigh the stench. Great spf coverage without the shine, mattifies well, AND sets my makeup like no other. To accomplish all of this with only 1 product is a win in my eyes. With 4 kids, 2 who are teenagers and 2 young adults, I'm ALWAYS on the go. This spray makes it very convenient for me with less steps in my routine. Otherwise there's a waiting game you'd have to play in between each step, which I don't have time for. With this you just apply 15min before sun exposure and you're good to go. What more can a girl ask for???
Sets my makeup and is my morning SPF! No bad smell!
Alexsandra from CO
I use it as a setter. I reapply for SPF
Would have been great if not for SMELL
some_metalhead from Ohio
As someone with dry skin, I'm definitely more in the market for a setting spray with SPF rather than a setting powder to touch up with makeup on. This has an impressive SPF 30, but the smell is SO strong and atrocious that I just can barely tolerate it. If you are sensitive to scent, it's a no go.
Horrible burns and stings!!
Makeup176 from Riverside
This stuff is horrible. First of all it smells awful, and then one day when I really tested it out being in the sun all day and practicing reapplying it consistently, it BURNED my skin. My whole face was burning and stinging. And then the next day I my left cheek was so burned it turned into a giant scab!! Horrible horrible product. Should be taken off the market
Priscilla from Fresno, Ca
This spray is pretty pricey but caved considering all the positive reviews. Now I did notice people mention the smell but we're all different...sooo I bought it....sprayed once and it smelled like straight alcohol, took me by so I opened it and thought well this isn't right and maybe someone tampered with it cause well sadly we live in times where people are doing some messed up stuff. Then I looked it up and lots of people too issue with the alcohol smell, like it doesn't go away and is super strong. I didn't even want to spray it on my face.
Good setting spray w/SPF
Eblueangel from Tennessee
I use daily, very good setting spray with sunscreen. I don't care for the scent but that's minor.
Not worth the $

It felt like I had sprayed alcohol all over my face.
Best Setting Spray I've Used - SPF is an added plus
Rbock from Washington, DC
I typically use the UD all nighter setting spray, and have for years. I've even tried the UD matte version, but it's really not that impressive because it does nothing to suppress the shine. I recently changed from Bare Minerals makeup to liquid foundation because Bare Minerals does nothing to control the shine. So because the liquid foundation has no SPF coverage, I needed something to supplement it. I tried the store brand rose water setting spray first because the reviews seemed to be comparable to Coola, and just--no. The store brand left me a shiny greasy mess, which is what you'd typically expect from spraying a sunscreen on your face, but not for a setting spray that calls itself "matte." So back to Ulta I went, to buy the Coola setting spray. And let me tell you--night and day difference. The Coola spray is IMMEDIATELY matte--no need to powder over it like with the UD all nighter, or the store brand SPF rose water setting spray. It stays matte all day. As for the smell, it's not offensive or anything. And yes, you need to keep your eyes closed for about 30 seconds after spraying or your eyes will burn. But that's a small hurdle for such a great setting spray.

Bottle is so pretty smells amazing has spf. Doesn't stop my makeup from rubbing off onto my mask but hey if it what it is.

Absolutely love this product!!!! It gives me a complete final protection to my daily routine!
I have been so happy with all Coola purchases so far! Can't wait to try more!!
Sunscreen 🧴 setting spray
Sarah from Seattle
This product was interned as a sunscreen for days where I may wear make up. I wore this and got tingly skin at first but then it cooled down. Did a great job holding my make up on, but when I got super hot/went swimming it did sting my eyes a little bit. If you have sensitive skin just a warning!
Easy and convenient.
NatNat from Santa Clarita, CA
I really like this spray for my face as a sunblock and setting spray. I also use when I'm out at the beach as a sunblock after few hours. Light and nice fragrance. Shake the bottle before use, no white spots on my face. I have tan skin and I don't see white film on my fave. It's a keeper.
I wanted to love this

There are some setting sprays that are gentle enough you can keep your eyes open while you spray it (to avoid your mascara transferring while your eyes are closed) & it will not bother your eyes (morphe continuous setting mist for example) then there are those that you have no choice but to close your eyes but you can open them immediately after spraying without irritation (I use UD's All Nighter after my mascara has dried so I can close my eyes without issue). Then there's this. Now I understand that this has sunscreen in it & I knew I wouldn't be able to spray this with my eyes open. In reality, however, you have to completely fan down this product until your face is dry before you can open your eyes. Otherwise it will sting. If you try to spray, wait a few seconds/fan with your hands and then open your eyes you're in for a rude awakening. It also smells VERY strongly of sunscreen & the pump kept coming unscrewed & spilling everywhere every time I tried to take the cap off the bottle. Very weird. Returned.
Wanted to like it

Product is fine I'm sure, I only used it one day and carried it with me in my purse and it completely emptied inside my $3000 purse. Not impressed. I saw a few users have this issues as well. Only used it once so didn't even get a good feel for how it was as a product. Extremely upset my purse is destroyed now. Thumbs down! 👎🏼 packing needs a serious revamp, this is unacceptable.
