Most Helpful Positive Review Best Powder Foundation
I love this powder foundation! I wanted to scale down my makeup routine in the mornings so I was looking for a quick and easy powder foundation. Prior to this I was using Revlon Colorstay liquid foundation for oily/combo skin (which I loved) in the color buff. I'm very pale, but can't do ivory foundations that lean on the pink side.
First I tried Bare Minerals - the lightest shade was too dark and I noticed tiny little bumps all round my mouth and chin area after using. The packaging was really messy and inconvenient and I spent a fortune on trying it with different brushes. Then I tried It Cosmetics Celebration Illumination which looked nice at first, but was more cakey looking after a few hours of wear when you try to build up the coverage - and the tiny bumps came back again. Both of these were very pricey and not worth the money to me.
Then I found the JCat Aquasurance from watching Tati on Youtube and her video was not lying. I'm in love with it. The shade Ivory fits perfectly for me - not too pink or yellow. It applies perfectly with the dry sponge that comes with the package. I tried using a brush because that's the best way to use the *other* powder foundations, but it goes on best with the dry sponge it comes with. Finally the convenience I was looking for. Its so quick and easy I apply it in the parking lot before I go into work. You can build up coverage with the dry sponge as well. No breakouts and my skin feels so baby soft! I use a good moisturizer over night so there are no dry patches on my skin so I can't say if it sticks to dry patches or not. Its semi-full coverage so I'd say it MOSTLY covers blemishes, but not 100%. I do have to re-apply around my mouth area after a meal, but its so quick and easy I don't mind it. I haven't tried it with a setting spray, maybe that'll help it last longer and give it more coverage. I don't use primers. Others must agree with me because I'm trying to re-order and its sold-out!
Most Helpful Critical Review Worth the try, but no hidden gem
I usually steer clear of powder foundations, do to having normal skin with a dryer t-zone, but have been on a hunt for a great drug store price foundation. I do consider myself to be a little bit of a prestige liquid foundation snob, so my judgments could be a little harsh. Since I've had more time at home lately, I did a little research and when I saw this one on sale I sprung to try it. I also saw it recommended by multiple youtubers to buy the catrice setting spray as a companion product. Overall, I can't complain because the coverage is fantastic, (I'm prone to acne on my chin but otherwise my skin is clear. I have a lot of freckles to cover and prefer having a base with fuller coverage for a more 'flawless' complexion) but the powder made my other products difficult to blend for a full face. (I will say the catrice fixing spray did do wonders for the texture of this particular product, but would not recommend it otherwise.) I did also notice a little bit of creasing around my eyes with this product, but that could be due to me not using a primer that day.
My main complaint with this product is the color selection. Since it was on sale, I went ahead and bought it in both porcelain and ivory due to being unsure of which color would be my match. Porcelain is incredibly too pale for me and tends to make me look like I've been battling the stomach flu for the greater part of a week, while the ivory is just about a shade or two too dark and gives me an unfortunate foundation line. (Would work great if I had a light tan. For reference I'm fair skinned with neutral undertones)
Pros of product:
- hydrating for powder
- color choices
-lack of blend-ability
- needs companion product to not look cakey
- does tend to crease without primer
- not an all day foundation (as it tends to crack in creases after about 5 hours, once again that was with the catrice setting spray only, without a primer)
I don't think this is a product I would repurchase unless on sale and I'm looking for a way to save on my more expensive foundations, but I am glad to have tried it out. Overall, I don't think it or powder foundations in general are for me but its definitely not a throwaway product. I'll continue to use what I have when I'm in a pinch or just to go out and run daily errands when I don't feel like using my more expensive foundations. However if you're looking for an affordable, full coverage powder foundation, I do recommend the try.

I have dry to normal skin with mild to noticeable but not quite tomato rosacea. I am normally fair to light during winter skin and light to light/medium during warmer seasons. The buff looked way darker in the pan but worked great on my light to medium skin (moreso on light side skin tone). Definitely set it with a spray. I use a big fluffy brush which seems to work for me to add some coverage on days I apply liquid foundation. This is good on its own for light coverage. I will be repurchasing.

I ordered 2 of these 1 in ivory and 1 in natural. well along with it i ordered a facial spray it had leaked all over everything. so I called to explain what happened and they said they would send a new one but only 1 not 2 because it is only showing them that I ordered 1.. she couldn't even tell me what color they were sending so now I have to wait until it gets here to order the other one. love this powder but not the customer service. only giving 5 stars bc I love this foundation so much.
Not full coverage

Honestly if you have acne and scaring it won't cover much. I have acne and I scar easily and it didn't cover much just kinda even out my skin but still could see my scars
Great for dry skin!

I have dry skin so I've always avoided powders. They've always made me look cakey and dried out my under eye area. But I really needed something to set my face and help my makeup stay looking fresher longer. This is an absolute game changer. I use it to set and add coverage to my t-zone and it makes my pores disappear without causing any dryness. I use it everyday and just hit pan after 5 months so it's a great price!
I Tried To Love It

I saw such great reviews, I thought for sure I would love this. It was always out of stock so I jumped at it when it was available. Unfortunately it did nothing for me. I tried multiple ways of applying it, as well as with primer and without, so I don't think it was user error. It literally looked like I had put my setting powder all over my face, which is fine, but not when I wanted it to perform like foundation. It was a decent shade match for me which is almost impossible, and it didn't irritate my sensitive skin. But as far as foundation goes, this was a big no for me.
Great for Acne Prone skin

I switched to this powder from liquid foundation because all of the ones I've tried make my acne worse, just by different degrees. It looks great on for everyday (not cakey, flat or dry) gives amazing medium to high coverage dry (packaging says it's full coverage wet, but I havent felt the need), and it wears well. It doesnt break down, it just looks glowy as the day goes on. For oil control I pat on some of the Too Faced Peach Perfect loose powder on my T zone, and then I lay this powder foundation on top.
I use two colors, one for all over, and a lighter one to brighten on top of the main color under my eyes. More often than not though, I use the It cosmetics bye bye under eye under my eyes, set it, and then use Aquasurance on the rest of my face. Highly reccomend. It's amazingto be able to look more polished withouth damaging my skin further.

I've now purchased my second one of these! This powder is full coverage but not cakey. Great for my dry skin because it doesn't emphasize dry patches. Only downside it that it doesn't work well to set the under eye area and can crease around the nose.

I love how this powder foundation applies and holds to the facial skin. It doesn't cake and is a very smooth finish that lasts and doesn't leave you oily looking in the slightest (but also not too matte to where you look chalky)
Will buy again and again
Mandy from OR - Oregon
I love this foundation for summer. I've never found a powder foundation that has as much coverage as this one. The sponge this comes with is the best way to apply for a more medium-full coverage look (swiping motion, not patting), whereas a beauty blender-type sponge gives a more natural look. Love this for summer! Definitely has a glowy look, which I like. If you have oily skin, this will look oily on you.
Nice but cheaper options available

This has a pretty finish but honestly LA girl pressed powder does the same thing for only $6
Great powder foundation

This powder foundation has a poor shade range, but I'm about an NC15 and I wore the shade ivory. I'm a fair-light skintone with a neutral leaning warm peach undertone. I wanted to try a new powder foundation since I haven't tried one in awhile for the summer. It is a very finely milled powder and has a silky texture. It was great at absorbing oil and applied wonderfully with the real techniques miracle powder sponge. I didn't try the sponge it came with. It had medium coverage and I have combo oily skin.
I finally found a powder that doesn't dry out my skin!
Jerrie from Tampa, Florida
I have extremely dry skin and every single powder foundation I've used has made my face to dry and chalky looking. This foundation for the price is amazing. My skin actually feels hydrated and it looks airbrushed! I also have very clear and even skin, not sure how well it would do with other skin types but I'm extremely impressed with this product.
Amazing everyday foundation powder!

Powder is smooth, soft and long lasting. The powder holds up to the heat, sweating and the humidity of summer. I use it over moisturizer for days when I don't feel like applying a liquid foundation, it smooths out my skin and evens out my tone. I also use it with a light hand to set my foundation on days where I really need my makeup to last. I 100% recommend this powder it is fantastic.

I LOVE this powder foundation. The coverage and powder texture reminds me of Mac Studio Fix but it doesn't breakout my skin! Mac is the bomb and nothing has come close before. Recently, I started using a cosmetic ingredient analyzer to check for ingredients that cause breakouts and this one was safe. Routine: I use either Pacifica spf 35 mattify & protect daily priming lotion or La Rosche-Posay 50 daily anti-aging primer with sunscreen. After it has dried then I use my Jane Iredale Flocked Sponge to pat on Aquasurance then lightly blend in with sponge or foundation brush. I think the Pacifica does work better with this product at keeping it in tact but some days I need a higher spf. Sometimes I will also use Essence silky matt powder in T-zone. I probably should have bought the buff color but I can use natural when I've used self-tanner or use ivory on most of face and put natural color on nose, cheeks, chin, and across forehead for a bit more of coloring. It does take a little bit for powder foundation to meld into my skin's natural oils but that is typical for me. I don't build it up crazy thick but at the same time I don't think it is necessary with the coverage it provides. I live in humid FL and this holds up well and neither oxidizes on me. In pic, starting from left is #1 J.Cat Ivory, #2 Mac Studio Fix NC 20, #3 J.Cat Natural, #4 Mac Studio Fix NC30. My natural color is probably NC20-25 in Mac.
Rich and gorgeous color!

I use this product for my lips as a base for lipstick and alone. It's a gorgeous color.
Great but hard to work with
Moriah32 from Beaumont,TX
It is an amazing powder foundation! Full coverage. But it builds up in lines and creases so you gotta work with it to make it less orange in those spots. Settles into pores too. So be sure to put concealer on and let it set for a minute before putting this over it.

This is a beautiful powder foundation. I bought this because of a few you tubers recommendations and I'm so so happy I did. It goes on so smoothly and easily, doesn't dry my skin out and lasts all day. What more could you want?!?
GeorgiaPeachy from Savannah, GA
I've used Clinique Almost Powder for 13 years but I wanted to switch to a "clean" makeup. It has been like hunting a needle in a haystack to find a powder foundation that actually covered as well as AP. I can't believe I found the closest dupe in an inexpensive line! I have mature combo skin with dry patches around my nose and the beginning of some fine lines around my eyes. This foundation covered beautifully and smoothly. It smoothed into my skin and didn't settle in lines or pores. I read a few reviews that said the product oxidized but I didn't have that problem at all. I honestly could go a shade darker. If you are looking for an inexpensive powder foundation, this one ticks all the boxes for me.
Lighter than pictured
missage from MI
All around I really like this alot, I don't usually use it by itself but use it to set my liquid foundation. Has good coverage, doesn't look like a dusty chalk board (I have normal/oily skin) and sets well... BUT do be careful when selecting a shade, because the pictures on here are misleading and look darker than they actually are. I ordered porcelain, as I'm very fair, thinking it'd be too dark but it's actually a little too light
New go to face powder

I have been looking for a good drugstore face powder for years. And when I finally tried this product I was hooked. Ordered two backups right after I received the first one. This formula has great coverage and can be worn alone or to set and refresh makeup. I will continue to purchase this amazing powder.

This power is light yet is covers almost everything!
Honestly not as impressed as I hoped to be
Liv843 from SC
Bought this off multiple you tubers recommendations that had similar skin types to be. It was pretty dry and still melted off by the end of the day. It is more long lasting than others but it doesn't look as good. If I put a little dim light by hourglass over it it improves it a lot but I like the physicians formula powder better.
Best Powder Foundation
MakeupUrMind81 from Orlando, FL
This is the best powder foundation I've ever used. I was searching for a powder foundation that wouldn't leave my skin feeling tight or uncomfortable and this one works great on my dry skin. Looks so smooth on and feels like I'm wearing nothing. This powder gives great coverage while letting my skin breathe. It can be tricky matching a color but I looked at YouTube videos and found my perfect match. I used to use MAC studio fix powder but it didn't suit my dry skin, this one is way nicer on my skin. Love, love, love this Powder. I will be repurchasing it over and over again, can't live without it!
Brianna from Florida
I'm pretty light so I bought the lightest shade. That was way to light for me! Be careful buying this online because the colors are misleading and things are a bit lighter than they look!
Love this product!
Whomst from Philadelphia, PA
I got the shade Natural, and it oxidized so I'll be wearing it quite often in the summer time. For comparison my perfect match is Estee Lauder's double wear matte powder in 3W1 Tawny. Aquasurance works well with a brush and damp sponge. I recommend it for dry skin as it does not emphasize patches or further dries my skin.
