Most Helpful Positive Review Thee Best Cheap Translucent Powder!!!!!
My skin tone resembles milk chocolate, a lot of translucent powders make my face look ashy. SURPRISINGLY this cheap translucent powder is light and smooth and blends naturally despite its chalky appearance, gives my face a soft matte look and makes my face look seamless. I do have to re-apply about every 4 hours but for less than $5 I'm perfectly fine that (I love powder time)... and to me, every 4 hours is a good thing because my skin is uber oily!! Like I can wipe my nose and moisturize my elbows with it! lol hahaa but seriously this keeps the oil at bay pretty good.
Most Helpful Critical Review Okay Powder
I have medium dark African American skin and it made me look a bit powdery at first. After I had it on for an awhile it seemed more natural. It contols shine. Okay translucent powder for the price but like Neutrogena Translucent Powder better although it's a bit pricey.

great powder for all over the face
Rach from Redding,CA
My best friend has been telling me to try this product for months. So I finally did and let me tell you, I absolutely love it! It doesn't leave a white cast and it helps keep oil down while helping the skin to appear smooth! Highly recommend ya'll check it out!
Great for touch ups

I have medium dark skin (like NC45) and I bought this as my "purse powder" so I use it a few times a week only after my lunch break. It soaks up all of my oil and does NOT leave a white cast. It doesn't have a mirror, so I have to keep one in my bag too. If I used it as a setting powder, or if I had dry skin (and less oil to soak up the "white" then it's possible it could leave me ashy, but for what I use it for, it's my new favorite. I'm going to buy a 2nd one and try setting, and the yellow one for under eye.
Not sure whether I would buy again

This is quite a good matte powder, however I"m not sure whether I prefer the Banana powder as the
color is more natural for the skin, as the white powder can be a little pasty
Preezy from Savannah
It works, but I have medium tan skin and it leaves a white cast. Also the powder always cracks on me! I've repurchased this twice and both compacts cracked after a few uses and now I get white powder all over my clothes every time
I use it! I know it's cheap so I can't really complain about packaging but it's a nuisance.

I'm impressed with this brand. This powder is very soft and it immediately mattes where needed to reduce shine. My skin is sensitive. This has created no irritation or breakouts. Skin on the dry side in spots. This does not make it dryer. Removed a star since there's no little brush included in the compact which is not very convenient. Therefore, I typically use my fingers to apply, as needed, in an attempt to carry less.

I use this as an all over setting and finishing powder to dust on after I have finished my makeup and to keep shine controlled throughout the day. I love to spritz a little setting spray then brush this on the Essence large fluffy brush as it also helps keeps my makeup from getting all over my face mask (not entirely but it helps). This inexpensive little line has some real steals and this is one of them.
Not that great
Alyssa from California
I have medium brown skin and this powder left suck a chalky, white, weird powdery look on my skin and I felt that it just sat on my skin weird. Unless you have really pale skin, then I wouldn't suggest this powder.

I bought this on the recommendation of one of my favorite YouTubers who also has oily skin. I'm 42 so I use powder extremely sparingly. This powder is absolutely perfect for me. I use it to "bake" around my nose and the other super oily areas of my face. Granted, I'm light/medium toned and I definitely don't think it'd work for darker skin because it is white (although it easily brushes away for me and has zero flashback). To address one of the previous reviews, I'm a huge high end "snob", but I love this powder.
Not the product I thought I was buying
Kayoe from Indiana
I didn't look close enough in the store. I thought I was buying a powder that would do more oil absorbing. It's actually a fixing powder, and works great for that. I wish it would help my shininess a bit more but still pretty good especially for the price
Jacklyn from Las Vegas, NV
If you use high end makeup on a daily.. this will be a disappointment, save those dollars for some snacks ..

I have dark skin but this said it's for all skin tones so I bought it. This powder is definitely white. You can really tell where you put this on your face. I tried the trick where you do powder under foundation and the mattifying effects were just ok, no different than any other powder I've tried.
Kat from Branson
Rated it two stars because I ordered this and it came in broken. It's a decent product but the container and the powder was broken.
This is a staple

I love this product, it is cheap and works well. Really no complaints.
Maybe don't buy it online?
Ashley from Upstate New York
After a shipping fiasco, my two compacts I ordered arrived completely destroyed. I was especially disappointed by this because I specifically bought these because I wanted to try a low cost compact powder (to see how well they go on and how long the product lasts compared to the loose powders I've used), and these were basically reduced to powder when they arrived. That being said, I am still using this product, and it seems to work fine. However, I also think it goes on a lot heavier when it's already crushed into a powder, so I see where people are coming from when they say this product made them look ghostly and pale. I'm a very light-complexioned person, and I find it shows up noticeably lighter on my skin as well.
For the price point alone, I think this product is worth trying. I'll likely try and pick up one that isn't destroyed in-store sometime in the future, but I'd avoid purchasing it online if my experience can be considered to be representative of all shipping during quarantine.

This did nothing to keep my oil at bay. If anything it made me more oily. I'm glad it's cheap because it was a waste.
Keeps me matte
Zandra from Tennessee
Great product for the price point. Just a little of this on top of my usual face products before my setting spray and I don't have to do any touch ups for my usual oily tzone

Saw the reviews and decided to try. Seems to be a good setting powder that holds my makeup for awhile! May have to update review as I haven't really used it much
Savannah from Sacramento, ca
This is amazing for setting your face! It's light weight and truly translucent. Great product.
Good for the price
MamaT from Minot, ND
Works great and the price is right. Looks as good as some of the high end brands.
Works well for the price!
JennyDC from Pennsylvania
I have very oily skin, I will say for the cheap price, it holds up well for me almost through the whole work day, some days may have to do a light touch up. Overall I like it and would purchase again
Excellent under eye setting powder
Jen from Chicagoland
I use this under my eyes, after all makeup is applied, to set and brighten. It is fine, matte, blends well and makes my under eyes look flawless. I was concerned it might accentuate my under eye lines, but has not been an issue. I really love this product and the price is unbeatable.

I'm doin to be 67 and never used a finishing powder but I'm glad I finally did. This works great and looks amazing. I love the Essence line of cosmetics and brushes!!!
Great for oily skin!
Nathalie from Puerto Rico
I used this powder with the I heart revolution peach delight mattifying primer and its honesty the best combination for my oily skin. My face was shine free for 6 hours(without any touch-ups) and considering I live in a tropical place that's a lot to say.
Great for price
Sandy from Houston
Used it as a base in my t-zone before applying liquid foundation. Once foundation set, applied this powder again in t-zones. This layering helped me stay matte longer. Still needed one or two touch ups up during the day, but my skin is super oily, typically needing a touch up every hour, so I'd say it worked well. I have dark skin. Only appears too white and doesn't blend into skin if you use too much.
