STAY AWAY IF YOU HAVE SENSITIVE SKIN

Comments about CeraVe Skin Renew Day Cream SPF30:

This product made my eyes itch, burn , turn red and water ALL DAY LONG. I regularly use both sunscreeen and retinol products, without any irritation whatsoever. The first time I used it, after about one hour, my eyes turned red, and they continued to burn and water and itch for the next 6-8 hours.
The next day, I made sure to not apply it anywhere even near my eyes, and to wash my hands with soap and water after applying it (thinking that maybe the prior day it was on my hands and I touched my eyes). The same thing happened.
I then deliberately waited a week before using it again. Used my other sunscreen and retinol products in the interim, and had no issues.
After the one week, tried this CeraVe product again. The itching, burning redness, and watering happened again, and lasted all day.
The next day, I tried it on MY NECK ONLY. The same thing happened. The following day, tried it on my upper chest only. Same thing happened.
I love CeraVe products, and I regularly use other retinol and sunscreen products without any issues, but there is obviously something in this particular product that can cause allergic reactions. Will no longer use this particular CeraVe product.

At 53 years old and still dealing with sensitive oily acne prone skin I thought I had tried everything. This day cream is wonderful for oily skin that also needs moisture and sunscreen. It goes on light and makes my skin look radiant. Love Cerave!

Comments about CeraVe Skin Renew Day Cream SPF30:

I had high hopes for this moisturizer because CeraVe was recommended by friends as being the best thing since sliced bread. It has SPF 30 and ceramides in it. Sounds great, right?

Not so much. The smell was unpleasant, it came out thick and pasty and I had difficulty rubbing it completely into my skin. It left white streaks around the corners of my mouth, in my eyebrows and along my hairline. Hours later it still felt greasy and my skin shone like an oil slick. It sat on my skin and really didn't do much to hydrate it. I reluctantly gave it 2 stars rather than 1 because of the high SPF, but that's really the only thing it has going for it.

I tried Garnier SkinActive Clearly Brighter SPF 30 after this and I DO recommend that. For about half the price you get a much better product in my opinion.

Comments about CeraVe Skin Renew Day Cream SPF30:

I use the CeraVe Facial Moisturizing Lotion Spf 30 everyday so thought I would try this because of the Sustained Action Retinol in it, but I find it a little drying, (so I add a drop of Marula Oil) and there is less product and almost twice the dollar amount of the original. I will just go back to the regular one when this is gone but I would still recommend trying it. I use the Neutrogena Rapid Wrinkle Repair Regeneratung Cream (jar) at night (next review)and love it but also add a drop of Marula oil to that - probably the retinol that makes it feel sort of dry.

Comments about CeraVe Skin Renew Day Cream SPF30:

I've used this product before, but with promos, Ulta was cheaper. It smells disgusting the first time you use it (like vom or baby spit up) but the smell dissipates quickly and I'm not too bothered by it anymore. I love that it is not greasy, but I have to wait a couple of minutes after my skincare routine before putting it on. It's not super moisturizing, which is fine for my combination skin, but if you're dry don't buy this for its moisturizing qualities (I like to layer this on top of skincare and only use it for its spf).
