Comments about Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge:

The past few days, I've had to use this because my foundation bush is falling apart. I'm actually very happy with it! I do prefer to use a brush as it uses less foundation but this does apply my makeup evenly. It's very soft and works great when you get it wet.

I would most definitely recommend this product to someone.

I actually love this. I was debating between buying this and the beauty blender and I decided to get the beauty blender and loved it at first but then it kept ripping so I decided to try this one since its a lot cheaper. I ended up liking it more. Its softer and more dense and I think it applies makeup more evenly.

                  Hi Ally,

The great thing about the Miracle Complexion Sponge is that it's so multi-functional that you can use it however it works best for you.

Our makeup artists (who are the geniuses behind the brand) recommend that you use the flat side for applying your foundation and blending. It enables you to get an even finish and you can also "push" the sponge onto your skin, which will leave bit more product on the areas you might need a bit more coverage on.

                  A:

                  Hi Randallstown Rie,

Great question. The sponge is one of the most versatile tools in our portfolio and works so well with all types of makeup, from foundation to contour to blush. With cream foundation, you can use it either wet or dry. If you want fuller coverage, you would use the sponge dry. If you want a dewy, lighter look, wet the sponge, squeeze excess moisture from it and use the foundation that way.

                  Thanks!

                  Hi Alexis,

These sponges are very soft. While it's hard to describe a level of softness online, I would say they are a bit firmer than a marshmallow, but still very squishy! :)

But yes, they are quite soft!

                  Hi AAA,

I think you asked one of the best questions I've gotten! :)

The Miracle Complexion Sponge is our #1 best selling item, mainly because it is so unbelievably versatile with what you can with it. We love our brushes around here, and we don't feel that a look is complete without them; however, that sponge is pretty unique.

One of the main differences is that you can use the sponge either wet or dry, depending on the look you want to get (which you can't really do with brushes). You can also use the various side of the sponge to contour & highlight, apply blush, apply concealer - you name it, you can pretty much do it with the sponge.

I would definitely tell you to check out the video tutorial on the sponge on Ulta.com (link here: http://www.ulta.com/miracle-complexion-sponge?productId=xlsImpprod5960824).

Hope that helps - i think you will find that, if you buy it, it's one tool that you just didn't know how you lived without!

Hi, I've just started using this product and have found it absorbs some of my foundation rather than blending it - is there a way to avoid this? Thanks

                  A:

                  Hi H,

Thanks for your question. I'm not sure how you are applying your foundation, but if you're using liquid foundation, our experts recommend that you slightly dampen the sponge before use. You also will want to use lighter, sweeping motions, which will blend the product along the surface area of your face. Pressing the sponge hard on your face may cause more absorption overall.

All in all, brushes and sponges will absorb a small amount of the product, just by their very nature; but overall, you shouldn't find that it's absorbing a significant amount.

                  Thanks. Hope that helps.

                  A:

                  Hi Liz,

Great question. You will want to make sure you clean the sponge thoroughly; you can use either our Real Techniques Gel Cleanser (Ulta Item 2291546), or our eco-friendly cleanser from EcoTools (Ulta Item 2297645).

After washing, make sure all excess moisture is squeezed out from the sponge. Store it out in the open so it can air dry. I usually place it on my soap dish or on a dry wash cloth.

Depending on how often you use it, make sure you replace it every 60-90 days.

                  Thanks!

                  Hi emsweets,

We LOVE questions like this - cleaning your brushes & tools is *so important*! Real Techniques makes a brush cleanser that you can use to clean your Miracle Sponge. It's Ulta Item 2291546 and is specifically formulated for makeup brushes & sponges.

Simply wet your sponge, apply a dime-sized drop of the cleansing solution onto the sponge and work into the sponge thoroughly. Like with your favorite shampoo, "rinse & repeat". Do this until your sponge is clean, then make sure to squeeze any excess moisture out of the sponge and allow it to air dry out in the open.

You can also use a gentle baby shampoo on this too.

                  Thanks!
