Comments about Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge:

Love this product. Personally i have never bought a beauty blender so i don't have anything to compare it to but i love it.
It makes my bb cream turn into and airbrushed, natural foundation. I tore it a little bit during the first wash so be careful when cleaning but besides from that this product is a must

Blended foundation pretty well, but I felt I was wasting a lot of the foundation because the sponge was absorbing most of it. While I was cleaning it, the tip of the sponge broke off. Not the highest quality bueaty blender

I love it! It is so soft and pliable. It keeps well in open air as to not get moldy, doesn't smell, can use up a bit of product. I recommend a glass palette or plate to reduce waist. I clean it with a face wash until no more product comes out while squeezing, place in mug with a little water into the microwave for 30 seconds to sterilize. It works fantastically.

                    • Q:

I purchased this sponge about a month ago. I really like the feel and coverage it gives. I wear light cream foundation makeup 5-6 days a week, only applying in the mornings. After about a month of use, it is flaky away already. That is exactly why I wanted to get away from the other makeup sponges I've been using for years. They don't last long. Is that a normal amount of lifespan to expect?

                        Hi Kristin,

We do recommend replacing your sponges every 30-60 days, and if you're using it every single day, you probably want to replace it every 30 days. Or use it every other day and on the days you don't use your sponge, use a brush. You might find that that extends the life a little bit.

                        Thanks - hope that helps!

                        Hi Aynia,

For a cream foundation, I would probably use a brush as I think you will get more use out of your makeup with a brush on cream, rather than the sponge. There are two foundation brushes I would recommend.

The first is our Expert Face Brush, which would give you medium to heavy coverage based on its bristle density & cut:

                        http://www.ulta.com/expert-face-brush?productId=xlsImpprod4260015

The other brush comes in our Flawless Base Kit and it's actually my favorite brush in the collection. It's the Buffing Brush; it's like the Expert Face brush, but the bristles are less dense and a bit fluffier, so it gives you a bit more of a light to medium coverage:

                        Hope that helps!

                        Hi Ally,

The great thing about the Miracle Complexion Sponge is that it's so multi-functional that you can use it however it works best for you.

Our makeup artists (who are the geniuses behind the brand) recommend that you use the flat side for applying your foundation and blending. It enables you to get an even finish and you can also "push" the sponge onto your skin, which will leave bit more product on the areas you might need a bit more coverage on.

You can watch their tutorial here: http://www.ulta.com/miracle-complexion-sponge?productId=xlsImpprod5960824

                        Hi Randallstown Rie,

Great question. The sponge is one of the most versatile tools in our portfolio and works so well with all types of makeup, from foundation to contour to blush. With cream foundation, you can use it either wet or dry. If you want fuller coverage, you would use the sponge dry. If you want a dewy, lighter look, wet the sponge, squeeze excess moisture from it and use the foundation that way.

                        Thanks!

These sponges are very soft. While it's hard to describe a level of softness online, I would say they are a bit firmer than a marshmallow, but still very squishy! :)

But yes, they are quite soft!
