Most Helpful Positive Review Loved it till it became unglued.
Bought this last year, loved the fact it fit in my smallest purse with ease. Could be used as more than one brush, when fully opened it could be used for bronzer or blush, and when semi opened it could double as a contour brush. It was soft and was easy to use. I had it for longer than I expected and the only reason I recently stopped using it was because the brush became unglued from the case. It can probably be reglued, but I'd rather just buy a new one.
Most Helpful Critical Review Don't love it
I normally love elf brushes but this sheds and is really too sparse to grab the powder effectively.

Wouldn't call it "kabuki", but definitely a great portable brush! Love using this most with my mattifying powder.
Perfect for on the Go!

I have had this brush for a year and I am thinking about buying a second one. I can do my entire face with this one brush. It is very versatile. I have used it for foundation, powder, bush, highlight and contour. I squeeze the bristles for smaller areas like nose contour. Also the retractable part is amazing because the sleeve completely covers the bristles before you put the cap back on. I definitely recommend this brush.
The New Jen from Noblesville
This is the perfect size blush brush for my cheeks & the bonus is it's compact, not take up a bunch of room in my makeup basket. I love that it retracts so the bristles stay together/protected. A must have!
Perfect Little Guy and Great Price
Bella from New York
I love the size and quality of this product so much. I haven't had any problem with shedding and it retracts easily which I love because it protects the bristles and makes storing it hassle-free!
5 stars, but not for makeup.
DOso from Tx
I got this to use as a nail dust brush if that makes sense. It's nice and compact and it works for dusting away nail dust and it stores with all of my nail tools. As for a makeup brush, eh pass and get another one of their brushes.

This is the perfect size
A Decent Kabuki Brush
Attila the Shopper from Erlanger, Kentucky
A decent Kabuki brush. It gets the job done, but it's hard to retract, which is why I took off one star. It also sheds lightly on the first use, but after cleaning, it's fine. I still recommend this product, and I like mine.
I love this little brush

This is a great little brush for traveling or keeping in your makeup bag for little touch ups. It works great for powdering your nose throughout the day. And you can't beat the price.
Soft and sturdy

I purchased this more than a year ago and I still carry it with me everyday for touch ups. Even after washing it regularly, it has no fall outs and is going strong.
Not really retractable.
Travel beauty shopper from Florida
Not really retractable. I was hoping for something tHat would get shorter
It's a nice brush but putting the cap on is a bit weird.
I wouldn't call this retractable. You have to slide the metal tube up and then put the lid on to
Slide it back down.
These are great little brushes

Perfect to keep in your purse

bought this to keep in my bag for quick touch ups. the brush is soft and works well.
Convenient in ALMOST every way
Kabuki dookie from Nv
Every time I wash this brush I have to leave it drying for nearly two days or have to blow dry it in order for it dry all the way. With the cover especially this allows for mold and mildew to grow which is then wiped all over the face, ew. should be way easier to effectively keep it clean.
a thousand times yes

100x better than everything I've tried so far. also very convenient for touch ups.
Had it 5 years, still going strong
Beth from Baltimore, Md
I use this almost every day. I once left it at a friend's house and got a Sonia Kashuk one to tide me over, but it left brush hairs all over my face! I'm super oily and need to touch up a lot so having this to throw in my bag is a lifesaver. So good, so useful, you can't go wrong.
hate the smell

I really like the concept of this and would love to use it more but I hate the smell. I've had this for about half a year but the smell just does not go away, even after washing it and airing it out.
Shouldn't be named kabuki
Lunamare from Boston
I bought this for traveling and like that it retracts and is covered. It's no where near as stiff as my other kabuki brushes. It should be renamed to just retractable brush. I'm not sure how good it will be for evening out powder foundation. We'll see.
CookieD from Abilene, TX
I mean it's alright in quality. I'm giving it a star off for it having a weird smell when I opened it (yeah, haven't cleaned it yet!), the package when retracted/closed is bigger than I expected, and the feel of the bush is not to my liking (it feels like the bristles are too long, yet kinda stiff). That being said, don't let this review turn you off of e.l.f. brushes!
Not bad but not great...
Byn1 from Chicago, IL
I was super excited for this retractible brush. And it does get the job done but it just isn't the best quality. Its quite lightweight... but for the price I can't really complain.
ClassyLibrarian from Los Angeles
1. Packaging is sleek and I love the retractable feature! (That is my one star!)
2. The brush itself is just too stiff for my liking.
3. The brush hairs shed.
4. Repurchase? Sadly not this product.
It's one of my purse must-haves
AK Badger from Anchorage, AK
Perfect travel brush, clever design. I don't have to worry about messing it up and the metal tube is sturdy. Applies blush nicely and I like that I can pull up the sleeve slightly to create a smaller, more dense brush good for contouring.
I would buy this product any time! Love it!
Steffie from Roseville CA
I use it every day.

This brush? I discovered this darling bit of cosmetic utility a few years ago. I was intrigued by the novelty of it. When seen by friends, they were amazed when they opened up what appeared to be a tube of makeup. they were seeing what shade it was and instead found themselves staring down the business end of a brush. After that they had to know where I found this lovely toy.
The Purists here will be appalled to know I prefer this to do my contour and concealer blending with this. Since I'm one of those that don't put on makeup until after they get to work, I dislike the idea of a wet sponge bouncing about in my bag growing mold. And don't get me started on that thingy that looks like a hobbit's breast implant.
My conclusion: Love the design, soft bristles, barely any shedding at all. Best little blending brush for the cheap.
I love this. Compact but works great!
Kristy from Oklahoma
I use this for travel. I keep it in my truck to apply loose powder without getting the powder all over my truck. Works great.

Perfect to throw in a purse or travel bag. It's too small to replace a powder brush, but it's perfect for toughups.
