Most Helpful Positive Review Can't believe I'm writing a dryer review but it's THAT good! I was looking for a new hair dryer and wanted one with a lot of power that had variable settings, a diffuser, and wasn't too loud. I looked at various models and decided to give this a shot. I forget if it has 2000 watts or more than 2000 but either way, most dryers have between 1375 and 1875 watts and wow, does the additional wattage make a difference! My hair dries so much faster now - I can almost hit the snooze bar one more time and still not be late for work!
In addition to the power, it comes not only with one diffuser but three, all different sizes. Two are angled, which is great for when you're using a rounded brush - it goes right along the brush contours. Ok maybe these are technically diffusers - they concentrate the air flow rather than diffuse it - so hopefully you know what I mean when I'm referring to these attachments.
Two speeds, three heat settings with a button for "cold air blast." The high heat setting takes a little time to get to full heat, but when it is at full heat it gets very hot so be careful. I only use that setting when I first start drying my hair to get excess water out and then turn down to medium heat. The intensity of the highest heat setting is my only complaint - but it doesn't stop me from getting what I need from the dryer.
It is also a little bit quieter than my prior (lower wattage) hair dryer and was definitely quieter than other higher power hair dryers I tested at Ulta.
Note that while this hair dryer is pretty expensive, I used a 20% coupon and my points (I save my points toward a splurge) and ended up getting this for under $23. But now that I've used it a few times, while I would not want to pay full price for this, I definitely think it is worth investing in this dryer if you have at least the 20% off coupon.
Most Helpful Critical Review Great dryer with a design flaw Only complaint is related to a design flaw. Two rows of raised buttons (on/off and temp.) are positioned horizontally on the upper right side of the grip rather than at the front. This means that when you wrap your right hand around the grip, the raised buttons uncomfortably press into your fingertips. I gripped the handle beneath the buttons, but it's too low to get a good grip. Recessed buttons would have solved this problem or moving buttons to the front of the grip. If I can't get used to this, I'll return the dryer.

This is the fastest hair dryer I've ever had. My hair is very long and fine but I have a lot of hair so it takes forever to get dry. I've never been able to blowdry my hair before work because it'd take too long, now I can get my hair fully dry and pretty straight and frizz free in under 15 minutes. My boyfriend loves it too. When his hair gets longer he would use my cheaper $20 hair dryer for even just a couple minutes and it'd make his hair so frizzy and dry looking. He will use this one now and it's even faster and way less frizzy when dry, it even makes his hair look thicker/fuller.

I decided to splurge on a dryer and was attracted to the fact that this dryer's packaging advertised a 4 year warranty and Ulta endorsed it as the dryer used in their salons. It doesn't disappoint! My hair is softer and silkier after drying with this dryer. I wouldn't have believed it, but I have seen it for myself. My hair dries quickly with it, yet it doesn't get as hot as some dryers I have had and that's obviously a good thing based on the way it leaves my hair so silky. It doesn't dry it out or burn it up like other dryers I've had.
The one thing that I'm *meh* about is that it is supposed to have a quieter motor. That I haven't noticed. It isn't particularly loud, but I don't notice a difference between it and others I've had. I only mention it because this, too, was touted on the packaging for it. Whatever.
So far so good and I am very pleased with this purchase.

I saved up a lot of my Ulta reward points to help pay for this dryer awhile ago and initially I loved it. It shortened my drying time as advertised and was nice and lightweight. Then I had some damaged and broken ends on my hair. I wasn't sure what the cause was but in the back of my mind wondered if it was the dryer. So I went back to using my old dryer. When that one stopped working I went back to the Rapido. Well here I am again with severely damaged and broken hair! Now I KNOW it's the dryer that's responsible. It makes me angry because this dryer is very pricey and presents itself as 'high end' with it's Ferrari motor. And now I'm paying the price with my awful broken hair. My hair is somewhat fine but I have a lot of it so it's definitely not thin. Still, I wouldn't recommend this to anyone with any type of hair. It is definitely not worth the risk.
I highly recommend this hair dryer. 5

Love the hair dryer ... didn't love the price when I saw it on another website for 50 bucks less!

My hair looks great after I've dried it and needs very little else even when the weather is wet or humid.

Unfortunately, my Solano Xtralight 3300 hair dryer died after almost 10 years of solid use so I went on a mission to locate a new hair dryer. After extensive research and questioning friends and stylists I came upon the Babyliss Pro Rapido and Portofino 6600. Once I held and tested each dryer I determined the Rapido would work best for my super thick, course, just below the chin A-line bob, which typically takes approximately 20 minutes to dry. I am beyond thrilled thus far with my selection! The Rapido is super lightweight and dries my hair in approx. 11 minutes. I highly recommend the Babyliss Pro Rapido hair dryer for those searching for a moderately priced dryer.

ive been needing a new blow dryer for a while i knew this was a good brand i had my flat iron for 10 years no issues!!! then updated to a newer choice and i wasn't disappointed so i knew i wanted my blow dryer from them. after reading reviews went with this one. its light and drys fast . i blew out my hair in sections and it came out good.. then when i was in a rush i just blew it out in two large sections..( i have curly wavy hair) it still came out really good and straight with minimal effort you barely need to iron. I also use a deva towel and good product so that helps with frizz.. overall this blow dryer is awesome
Overall... Pretty Good 5

This dryer claims to last 10k hours. (The box states 5k hours, so, we'll see.) It's not heavy at all, even with the snap-on diffuser attached, which you have to buy SEPARATELY. (Item # for the Diffuser at ULTA: #2509120. And, the Model # on the Diffuser BOX is: #BABDF2, if you choose to buy it elsewhere.)
I have thin, wavy hair (2A/2B), and it's perfect for my hair (but, I always keep the diffuser on). It has 2 AIR FLOW settings (med/high), and 3 HEAT SETTINGS (cool, warm, hot). Plus, another cool shot button that you have to keep pressing for cool air... unnecessary in my opinion, because it's not any colder than the cool setting.
I like that the plug has indententions where you can grab and unplug the cord easily, if your hand is slighty wet with product. My dryer also came with a drawsting pouch for easy storing. The cord does not swivel (no problem with that... just mentioning it), and there's a loop at the base of the dryer, where the cord begins, for hanging your dryer.
I already have a Dyson dryer. In comparing both, the Dyson seems to leave my hair healthier-looking. They both dry my hair in the same amount of time. The Dyson is suppose to be heavier, but somehow they feel about the same. When I travel I don't want to risk damaging my Dyson. So, I got the BaByliss Pro RAPIDO on sale, AND used my 20% coupon, AND used my points... AND at the time a mini BaByliss flat iron was free with purchase. Overall, a great deal!

The time to dry my hair was cut in half and that is what I was looking for.
Love this blow dryer 5

I bought this blow dryer after watching my hairstylist use it on my hair and doing some online research on this model. After the first use I am in love. It's so lightweight, and it blow dries the hair fast. I have really thick, bleached blonde hair and this left my hair so soft and shiny! No frizz at all. The cord is really long as well, but it doesn't swivel but I can live with that. I recommend this blow dryer, you won't be disappointed.
Disappointed 3

I have thick, very wavy/S curl hair down to my waist and it usually takes 45-60 mins to dry it with other 2000W professional driers. I was so excited for this dryer bc of the reviews and how pretty and lightweight it was when it arrived. It did dry my hair quickly (only did one section) but my hair was left dry and dull, esp the ends. I whipped out the Elchim 3900 that I have, ran it over the hair that was dried by the Babyliss, and it instantly shiny and smooth w/o the need for a flat iron. Sadly, this will be returned.

well worth the money. Less time to dry my hair and no need to use my flat iron. Absolutely love it!

This hair dryer really makes a difference! 5

I have wavy, dry, frizzy, color treated, just past the shoulders length hair. I was kind of hoping this hair dryer wouldn't make a huge difference since it is definitely pricey. I don't want to trash talk my trusty Conair dryer because it works well but the Babyliss Rapido dries my hair faster at a lower heat setting and definitely leaves my hair less frizzy. It has not completely eliminated the use of a flat iron but greatly reduces the use of it (just a few quick passes).

The search for a good dryer is OVER! I've got hair just to the middle of my back; natural curl and wave, but thanks to pregnancies, curl pattern changed. I typically blow dry with a large round brush to smooth, but also help encourage the natural wave. I have a decent amount of hair, but it's fine. This dryer is AMAZING!! Super light, which is a huge bonus. I've got the upper body strength of a kitten and I have weakness in my hands from carpal tunnel. This dryer put no strain on my hands/wrists/forearms. Seriously. Stop searching and buy this one.

I've had this for two weeks now and I'm LOVING it!! It's light weight and powerful! And best of all it gives enough heat but it doesn't feel like it's burning or frying my hair when I'm finished drying. I LOVE this hair dryer and highly recommend everyone getting one!!
No Flat Iron Needed 5

I bought this hair dryer at the recommendation of my colorist/stylist. It does dry hair faster and with less frizz. I didn't need to flat iron it. Just blew it dry with a big round brush for good results.

I am so glad I splurged and got this hair dryer. It is lightweight, relatively quiet, and the air is not extremely hot. It has cut my drying time by a third, and I have noticed my hair looking shinier and more healthy.
Powerful, true cold shot 4

I wash my wavy, bobbed hair every 4 days and use my hair dryer for both wash-day blowouts and every day touch-ups. I've had this hair dryer for about 2 weeks now. It is smaller than my previous two hair dryers (a professional Hot Tools that lasted 10 years, and a non-pro Hot Tools that lasted all of 2 years meh), lighter, and a bit quieter. I chose the BabyLiss this time because I've had good luck with their hair straighteners. So far I like it, but I wish that either the high speed setting was not so powerful, or that there were 3 speed settings. The description says that it has 6 heat/speed settings, which is true only if you consider "off" as a speed setting. The heat settings are great for my needs. The hot gets very hot, the medium is not quite as hot but adequate for blow-outs, and the cool actually gets very cool if not cold (almost no heat at all going through it). This is the first hair dryer I've owned that has a truly "cool" setting. The speed settings are both just a little too strong for my needs. The Ulta rating at the store rated it good for "all hair types", but it might not work well for fine or very fine hair due to the high speed (if you get knots in your hair from having the car window down, try a different dryer). I have medium coarse hair that seems to hold up to higher speed settings, but I have almost stopped using high speed except when my hair is very wet. I never use the high speed with high heat, because it makes my hair feel and look like straw. The medium speed setting is also good for drying damp hair, but is a little too strong for precision blow-outs or touch-ups. I wish the dryer had a "low" speed setting for touch-ups. I thought I might return it for an 1875 watt dryer, but I am now used to it and will keep it. My favorite thing about the dryer is that it sounds a little like a jet engine starting up. I hope by paying more than $100 for a hair dryer that it will last for more than 5 years. We will see.
