Best conditioner

Comments about Sebastian Penetraitt Conditioner:

My hairdresser recommended this product for my thick, dry, coarse, color treated Asian hair. Hardly anything works on it and now it has become frizzy too. This product makes my hair soft, moisturized and shiny. I can't live without this conditioner.

Comments about Sebastian Penetraitt Conditioner:

It was on sale when I purchased it. I wouldn't buy it full price unless it had magical abilities. That said, this is a pretty amazing conditioner. It's very detangling and thick. It reminds me of a thicker version of Biolage hydrating balm. Except biolage makes my head itch. My hair health has changed significantly since using this. I will no longer be searching for the ultimate better product.

Finally, my hair is improving!

Comments about Sebastian Penetraitt Conditioner:

To start, I have long-ish, curly hair that's usually kept cut in a layered effect to keep the volume down. I wash my hair every other day (it gets greasy after day 1 so I use dry shampoo). I do blow dry they roots around my face and bangs and limit use of a straight iron. I've tried Kenra and Redkin's lines that are geared towards moisturizing hair repair and my dry hair & split ends only continued to get worse. I've been battling it for several years now and I used each of those products for at least a year before moving on to the next. I was actually using Kenra when my hair took a turn for the worse, then tried Redkin Extreme. Originally, everything but my ends still felt mostly soft and manageable with both of these other products, I was still clipping soooo many split ends daily (despite regular hair cuts with my stylist). They just kept coming. Then I started seeing more and more hair shafts looking brittle, damaged and anything but smooth. Anyhow, when I realized Redkin wasn't making any improvement I started searching for a brand to try and that's when I came across Sebastian Penetraitt's line. I've been using this for several months now and am almost through my first conditioner bottle (but much of the shampoo left) and my hair is FINALLY looking so much better! I'm see vast improvement to the hair shaft and a greatly reduced number of split ends (so I'm not forming more at the rapid pace I was previously). Also, this conditioner goes so much further than any other. I'm able to get it's thick consistency spread throughout my hair better and use much less. Very happy!

My hair feels amazing! I can go for 2-3 days without washing it now and it doesn't get greasy, still has an amazing smell, and stays so soft! my hair was dry and brittle, but I must say that this conditioner has worked wonders on my hair.

My hair is thinning but course. My hair is breaking and so super dry. This conditioner repairs damage, plumps hair shaft up so you cant see damage and doesn't way your hair down. Godsend

I don't know if it's the ammonia that's in it or what but I used both the shampoo/conditioner and my hair started falling out and it got really dry and frizzy. I WOULD not buy this.

          Comments about Sebastian Penetraitt Conditioner:

I love this conditioner, since I starting using it my hair has become very thick and is growing like never before. I am always getting compliments about how shiny and good my hair looks and smells. I color my hair and have to say this conditioner has helped keep my hair so soft, healthy and detandled. I haven't had hair this healthy since I started to color it years ago. I hope this stays around forever it's become a product I can't live without! I am willing to pay the price for what it does for my hair well worth it!

I bought the shampoo and conditioner based on all the great reviews. While I do find this to be a good shampoo and conditioner, it certainly is not the best and doesn't justify the cost. I have fine dry hair due to coloring , I find that Bed Heads Resurrection treatment mask and shampoo work much better to conditioner my hair and bring it shine and manageability at a 1/3 of the cost of Penetraitt

Does this product testing on animals? Is it cruelty free? It's very important information you have to provide it for all products in your store. People have to know if they pay for animals cruelty

Response from Sebastian's parent company, COTY:

"All of our products are cruelty-free. We do not perform, nor do we ever commission any third parties on our behalf to perform, testing of our products or ingredients on animals. COTY voluntarily ceased testing finished cosmetic products on animals in 1991, long before the official European ban on such testing in 2004, and we have been actively involved in the research and development of alternatives to animal testing for many years."

Does this smell any stronger than Drench? I liked the way Drench worked, but I really couldn't smell it at all. I like my conditioner to leave my hair smelling nice. I loved the smell of Matrix Biolage, but that didn't have as good of results as Drench. If this smells stronger, I might try it. If not, is there another brand that works similarly to this one but has a stronger smell?

              A:

The Sebastian Penetraitt Conditioner also has a very light scent. This product is superior in that it will add moisture and protein to mechanically damaged hair, however, if you are looking for a product with a wonderful smell, and that is also great for chemically treated hair, I would recommend Wella Brilliance; this product has a heavenly scent and leaves your hair feeling soft and manageable.

Is this shampoo safe for keratin treated hair? I had a brazilian blowout done a few weeks ago and am currently using their shampoo and conditioner; however, I'm not really happy with it. I was told to only use a shampoo that is Paraben, sodium chloride and sulfate free.

          • Q:

Hi, this product appears to have very similar ingredients to the Sebastian Drench conditioner. The most obvious difference is that these conditioners contain two different types of protein (silk vs milk, respectively), yet the Drench line doesn't claim to deep condition. I have naturally thick/coarse, coily hair and while my hair is generally healthy my ends seem to become dry and damaged quickly for no apparent reason. Too much protein makes my hair hard and breakage-prone. Should I purchase the Penetraitt or Drench line for a weekly moisturizing, deep conditioning experience?

              A:

Penetraitt is designed for dry, damaged, over processed hair, and its primary purpose is repair. If you are seeking a conditioner that helps with moisture, Drench is definitely the best one to use, especially for coarse, curly hair.
