- Rub between palms, scrunch into soaking wet curls.
- Do not rinse.
- Style as usual.
- Once fully dry, shake at the root and scrunch to soften the cast.
If you want another strong curl-locking blend option, Defining Spray Gel is recommended. If you want the lightest curl-locking blend, DevaCurl recommends Light Defining Gel. If you want the strongest curl-locking blend, Supreme Defining Gel is recommended.

Gone way down in wuality
Hair Type Very Curly Hair
This stuff used to be so good! I used devacurl all throughout the early-mid 2000s and then switched to leave in conditioner only. Got a bottle of this again the other day and it's gone down in quality so much. The archangel gel (now discontinued) was the best, but the ultra used to be good too. If you put enough in to actually hold the curls it just feels like there's a coating all over your hair. Put less in so it doesn't feel like it's coated in goop and it won't hold your curls. I won't get anything else from devacurl again.
Wanted to love
I had high hopes for this curl gel but unfortunately it dried my hair out so bad. I used leave-in conditioner first like I always do and it did define my waves really good but after my hair dried completely it felt like straw. Maybe it's bc I have fine hair but it's healthy and I've never had a product make my hair feel dry before.

Hair Type Wavy Hair
I have used this product for years. Took a break from it to try some others, but keep coming back to the tried and true. Always gives my curls good definition with out that heavy or straw type feel to my hair.
The worst!
I used to be a huge DEVACURL fan back in 2019/2020 era before the lawsuit. It literally transformed my curls into gorgeous locks. But when the lawsuit came out, I no cudecided to move on to other name products. So here we are 5 years later and I figured I'd give it a try. Omg, I don't know what they did to these new formulas but literally its terrible!!! I used the Mist of Wonders Leave in, the Wave Maker, Plumping primer, and this. Absolutely terrible. My hair literally had zero curl! It was so limp with no hold and the frizz was more than I've seen ever! This brand used to be the IT brand, not anymore. Now I see why a lot of curlfluencers moved on to bigger and better things.
Better than nothing
I was a die hard Deva Curl Supreme defining gel user. My curls were amazing and would constantly get compliments. Of course like every product you love its discontinued so I had to buy the ultra. Its barely gel, its practically water. Barely does anything for my curls than a wave. But again, supreme was discontinued so its better than nothing.
