Q
How is this product clean if it contains parabens?
Asked by Vicki
Official Answer By Kiehl's - BE
Hi there! Thank you for reaching out about the Ultimate Strength Hand Salve. Parabens are a group of ingredients commonly used to preserve the lifespan of a product. We at Kiehl’s know that customer preferences have changed and are well aware of growing concern around Parabens or other ingredients that could be considered sensitizing for some. As a result, in the mid-2000s, we made the choice to develop all new formulas without parabens and as of the end of 2019, Kiehl’s entire range of formulas is paraben-free. In each reformulation, parabens were replaced with another efficacious preservative system the specifics of which vary based on each formula composition. The change was done while maintaining the characteristics, efficacy and safety of every formula. Was this answer helpful to you

So I've tried every other hand cream on the market. From Bath and Body Works to The Body Shop, Eucerin, Aquaphor, Neutrogena, Lush, Aveeno, Lubriderm, Palmer's, Curel, Burt's Bees, L'Occitane, Cetaphil, etc. They were all either way too greasy or did absolutely nothing. I had normal skin on my hand...

Not impressed.

While the hand cream does work well and does seem to keep hands hydrated for long periods of time. As the tube seemed to run out, I cut it in half to get out the last bits - but to my surprise, the tube was still about half full. I just simply could not squeeze any more out as it had all stuck to th...

It's just an ordinary hand cream.

It claims be an all day care for "extremely " dry hands but it doesn't last very long and even right after I use it my hands do not feel as moisturized as with some other hand creams.

Super greasy

This stuff is greasier than a truck stop diner. It leaves behind this thick, slimy residue that never seems to fully absorb into your skin. Within an hour, my hands felt like I had dipped them in a vat of vegetable oil. Maybe it's ultra hydrating, but at the cost of making your hands feel absolutely repulsive. I couldn't use my phone or computer without leaving fingerprint smudges everywhere. Hard pass - I'll be sticking to lighter, faster-absorbing hand creams from now on.

Good balm for my dry skin areas

First, I will say it works well on hydrating dry skin. I don't have severe dry skin, just mild at finger and heels. I apply it every night before bed for over two weeks and my dries healed. However, I don't like its smell and thick texture. It was greasy. But for balm the thick texture will stay on skin better and moisture it well, so I accepted its cons. No regrets to try this.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend

I have used # 1 lip balm for 10 years at least. The new formula tastes medicated. ugh. I hate it and my husband hates kissing me when I wear it. Sadly, I will be shopping for a different brand.

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend to a friend
