For Optimal Application
Use a dense face brush (like the Real Flawless Foundation Brush) or a sponge for a buildable, diffused tint.
Use fingers for a sheer wash. For mid-day touch-ups, press and smooth over areas where makeup has shifted.
Pro Tip:
To effortlessly add subtle dimension, trace the shape of your face, especially under the cheekbones, with a shade one level deeper than your skin tone. For a more sculpted effect, use a shade two levels deeper.

Eh..
I received this product at no cost in exchange for my honest and unbiased review. I really wanted to like this product. It makes for such a great skin tint but it did not sit well with my skin. Whether using a beauty blender or a brush it just felt like it was sitting on top of my skin. I also have...

due to the fact that the shade was too dark and over time it dried my skin. I like a product that is buildable and this one wasn't. I like a medium to full coverage and prefer a dewy over matte look to my skin. I do like how light and airy the product felt when first applied.

This compact powder is very moisturizing and fills in the pores. It glides over smoothly to hide blemishes and has a matte finish. The container is stylish too

This is great for that minimal makeup look that has a natural finish, great at concealing my redness and blemishes. It is a little drying but if you have a good skincare routine with a hydrating moisturizer, it works

I received this product in exchange for my honest review but all thoughts are completely my own. I have tried similar products in the past and have not been impressed. They did not play well with my mature skin. This one however, hit it out of the park. It is blurring but it is not dry or matte. It is just a beautiful your skin but better. It seems to last all day long and it doesn't accentuate my pores or cling to dry patches. It has a slightly satin finish which is very attractive. I only wish they made a few more colors, but given the light nature of the product I could see why they have the range they do. It's a solid sheer foundation and I highly recommend it.

Laura Mercier Blur Balm isn't similar to anything else I have tried; it is a compact (with mirror) with a true balm that applies so delicately and lightly and dries to a super lightweight, powdery finish. I used it under my eyes and near my nose and mouth and it was very easy to apply using my finger to warm the balm and dab on skin. Dry skin would benefit from this as it wasn't heavy or greasy at all; in fact, my skin was a bit dry from the weather and it was comforting in those area and didn't cake or look flaky even hours after I applied. The size of the compact is generous, but the product is best suited to concealing, rather than slathering all over the face, in my opinion. The shades appear darker in the compact than they apply so do use the shade guide, not the color of the product in the compact when choosing a shade. Shade 02 was a bit light for my Asian/medium skin, but using it as a concealer it was workable as opposed to all over coverage. Overall, Laura Mercier products are very good quality and this one was a lovely change from the typical foundations and concealers out there. If you need a more "well rounded" product or want to pack lightly for a trip or something, I would choose this one although I would pair with other products if you need more coverage or want a full face.
