This is a body oil, not a gel. It has an oily feeling on the skin, squeezed out of the bottle, and the oils in the ingredients make it an oil. It does not feel like a gel. There are too many unique problems I encountered while using this product. I've also never seen another spf product packaged... in a clear container, and they aren't supposed to be exposed to sunlight. Sunscreens always recommend reapplication or to be applied liberally on the skin, but no other product I've used requires two layers. Does this imply that one isn't enough to protect the skin. One layer alone never fully dries, I can always feel the slippery oil that never absorbed. I didn't bother with two layers because of the inability of the first layer to dry. Hours later I couldn't feel the oil as much as I did when I first applied it, but I'm not sure if this is a result of absorption or rubbing off. The oil has rubbed off on my phone and other surfaces I have touched. There is barely any shimmer, and I was really excited to try this product because there aren't many shimmer sunscreens with okay ingredients. I've been using Supergoop Glow for the body and that has more shimmer, but isn't overdone. Kopari's sunscreen on the body isn't as shimmery as the bottle. The smell isn't my favorite. It's like a less strong version of Equate (tropical scented) or Alba Botanica (Hawaiian), and personally it isn't for me. If it was stronger, it would be intoxicating, which the two products I mentioned are. This product reminds me of applying coconut oil as a lotion. In theory it sounds good because it's "natural" and trendy, but unless you're going to be off your phone and avoid sitting/touching anything all day, 99% of people won't find it practical. I'd also be lowkey scared of wearing this at the beach in front of a bonfire or at home cooking on the stove, the oil close to heat would probably make the entire body flammable. And because of the body's natural temperature and summer heat, oil will always be wet and transfer. Because this product is so new, I feel like it's a "rough draft" of Kopari, considering they only have one other spf product. But due to the slight itching and burning I experienced while wearing this out (in the sun, not in water), and the amount of reviews that mention burning, I wouldn't be surprised if this product was recalled or the subject of a lawsuit. And I always tan, I rarely burn.
