- Q
What do the letters mean before the color numbers?
- Asked by Debbie
- Official Answer By MACGreat question! In MAC’s shade system, NC stands for Neutral Cool (for golden/yellow undertones), and NW means Neutral Warm (for pink/rosy undertones). The number reflects how light or deep the shade is—lower numbers are lighter, higher numbers are deeper. Hope this helps you find your perfect match! Was this answer helpful to you
- Q
Would this be a good product for older skin witn fine lines?

I use Studio Radiance Foundation. NC17.5 If I want a little bit more color to my face.. what would you recommend?
- Asked by Lisa
- Official Answer By MACThank you for your question. Give NC20 a try, as this is a light beige with neutral golden undertones, a step deeper than NC17.5.Was this answer helpful to you
- Q
does the product have any oxidation? how do you apply to minimise it if it does oxidise?
- Asked by makeup newbie
- Official Answer By MACExcellent question! Our MAC Studio Radiance Serum-Powered Foundation is designed to stay true to color and does not oxidize. Because it’s enriched with skincare-powered ingredients, the shades may run slightly deeper compared to other formulas. We recommend selecting your shade with this in mind to ensure your perfect match. Was this answer helpful to you

My new favorite foundation
I'm excited to share my experience with this foundation, especially for people with extremely dry skin. As someone in the same boat, I've always struggled with foundations creating dry patches, but this one has turned out to be a game-changer. Mind you, I'm very picky with my foundation but the way ...

I was very excited to receive and try this foundation from MAC and BzzAgent because the claim of it being like skin care, hydrating, and Moisturizing. As a person with dry skin at the moment, this was to drying and Matte for my tastes. When it's first applied, it's beautiful, radiant, and has a nice...

Comments about NW13
I adored the previous iteration of this foundation, the MAC Mineralize Moisture Foundation in identical packaging. It was discontinued before I could even decide on whether I was NW 15 or 18. MAC doesn't make many foundations for dry or mature skin, so I was thrilled that they finally brought back my favorite. Unfortunately, this is not identical to its predecessor. The texture and coverage are heavier and it is not as glowy. Not ideal for dry or mature skin. The texture of the Mineralize Moisture was ideal for my skin type. This line may also have a larger selection of shades, so an exact match from the previous line is not possible. I tried the NW 13 and found it too pinky peach for my skintone. I am afraid the NW 15 or 18 will be the same and may be too dark. I got samples of the N shades in 11 and 18. They are very light but lean neutral pink, what NW is supposed to be. N32 sounds like it would be too dark for me, but since 18 was quite light, it may be worth trying. I can always mix it with moisturizer, radiant primer or a liquid luminizer (which I don't own), to make it glowier if I find a good match. I like the pump container and how it locks and unlocks, allowing easy dispensing with no mess, and simple transfer to smaller containers for travel. It's not perfect, I wish MAC would make more face products for dry skin, but if you find a good color match (my biggest challenge), it is a good, fragrance free foundation that can be adjusted to suit dry or mature skin types looking for lighter coverage with a more radiant finish (despite the name).

Comments about NW43
Contrary to what MAC seems to believe, brown-skinned people are NOT orange! Neither are black or white-skinned people - we are NOT gray either. This foundation is shockingly orange... like Mid-Century Modern Orange, as in your oak cabinets orange, but much more intense! And their color match is way off. I was trying to match SmashBX 3.1 Med-Peach and they said this NW43 was the match. It is not... as you can see in the photos.... waaaay off! I am even darker than the smashbx 3.1 but still this orange MAC makeup cannot match bc no one is orange not even with a tan! The foundation itself seems good, but I could not test it out for long - off it came & it was returned ASAP. I'm not sure, given their love for orange, that I will be able to get a proper color match so I will stay with SmashBX. Sad bc I need a better moisturizing foundation.

No
I found this foundation to be very heavy on my face and it didn't look natural. When I went into the Ulta store I told the greeter that I was looking for a foundation that wouldn't look like I was made up. This was not it. When I asked about another company's foundation she basically said it wasn't what I was looking for.
MAC disappointed
I have normal skin in hotter months and dry skin in cooler months. I purchased this during the winter. I wanted to like it bc its MAC but it made me super glowy as if I was sweating. Every time! Not my go to product for foundation.

After years of trying dept store brands that were never the right shade for my light skin that's more pink than golden, I finally went to the MAC counter at Macy's in Herald Square and got matched with my perfect shade. The first week, 2 friends said they thought I wasn't wearing any makeup because it looks so natural and moist without being too thick. I can see it's evening out my uneven skin tone beautifully, and it lasts all day & evening. Hope they sell this for a long time!
