To get started:
- Fill the built-in water tank with filtered distilled water (using provided bottle) and adjust heat to preferred setting.
- Use the straightener in the direction of the arrows.
- Use on dry hair.
For straightening hair:
- For best results, section hair and glide SteamPod down slowly to straighten. The thinner the section, the more precise the result.
- Take each section and slowly move the straightener downwards from root to tip, making sure the arrows on the tool are pointing down to achieve optimal results.
For creating waves:
- Pre-comb and section hair.
- For natural waves, place a small section in the middle of the plates and wrap it around the tool.
- Then rotate the tool while slowly gliding downwards, making sure the arrows on the tool are pointing down to achieve optimal results.
- Let the waves cool off for a few minutes before either shaking or brushing them for a very natural-looking result.

Super happy with how easy it is to use and that it straightens well with one pass on the second temp setting. I wanted something that would be less damaging to my hair and with one pass I think it will help. Watch videos before first use helps a lot.
Game-Changing Styling Tool!
I received the L'Oreal Steampod as a Christmas gift in 2020 - and never looked back! I have a full head of fine, color-treated and highlighted hair. Without heat-styling, my natural hair tends to be both limp and slightly frizzy-looking. I have used various straighteners, curling irons, and wands over the years - but nothing has compared to the results of the Steampod. The Steampod was, at first, a little bulkier than what I was used to - but was able to adjust to it after a few uses. When I use it for either curling or straightening, the results are smooth, shiny, healthy-looking hair - that lasts until my next wash. I know that some reviewers have stated that the size of the plates doesn't allow you to get completely to the roots. With my hair type and style preference, I personally like this - because it allows me to get a sleek, smooth look without losing any volume at the roots. My two recommendations for use: just as with any heat tool - don't forget the heat protectant! Also: I use it with the integrated comb, which delivers good results, but (for me anyway) this does not replace going in with an actual comb first to fully detangle. This has been a game changing styling tool for me - I seriously feel like I have just stepped out of the salon with "shampoo-commercial hair" every time I use it!

I was on the fence about buying this flat iron, but I'm so glad I finally did! It makes my hair look hydrated and much healthier. I used to wear my hair up all the time because it would frizz in any humidity, but not anymore! My hair stays smooth and shiny all day. This is the best flat iron I've ever used…it's definitely worth the investment!

A little learning curve bc the arrows have to point down, but once I got it that was it. Silky smooth hair with one pass per section. I find that I can take larger sections than I can with my chi iron. Stays frizz free even in Louisiana humidity. So obsessed!
