To get started:
- Fill the built-in water tank with filtered distilled water (using provided bottle) and adjust heat to preferred setting.
- Use the straightener in the direction of the arrows.
- Use on dry hair.
For straightening hair:
- For best results, section hair and glide SteamPod down slowly to straighten. The thinner the section, the more precise the result.
- Take each section and slowly move the straightener downwards from root to tip, making sure the arrows on the tool are pointing down to achieve optimal results.
For creating waves:
- Pre-comb and section hair.
- For natural waves, place a small section in the middle of the plates and wrap it around the tool.
- Then rotate the tool while slowly gliding downwards, making sure the arrows on the tool are pointing down to achieve optimal results.
- Let the waves cool off for a few minutes before either shaking or brushing them for a very natural-looking result.

I've only tried it once so far and WOW it's amazing! It does take a few tries to get the hang of it, but it left my hair so shiny and soft. It also smoothed out really damaged parts of my hair that are dead because of at home bleaching. I think it's gonna be great as I continue getting regular trims and as I grow my hair out!

My expensive straightening iron broke so I went to Ulta for a new one. I was so overwhelmed there were so many to choose from. So I just bought this one because it was on display and stood out. Steam technology seemed innovative to me. I was apprehensive at the same time. But it is the best straightening iron that I have ever owned. I am now glad that the other one broke and led me to this one. I have frizzy unmanageable hair. I've had a hard time with other irons straightening my hair. This one leaves it straight overnight and into the next day where other irons did not. It's definitely different as it's a little on the heavy side and it makes a noise from the steam circulating through it but that doesn't bother me at all. I recommend it and it's worth money.
