Most Helpful Positive Review The best self tanner EVER! This is honestly the best and longest lasting self tanning product I've ever used! I'm quite fair skinned and was nervous leaving it on for the full 3 hours to develop the dark tan would be too much but it develops into an absolutely gorgeous, deep, and natural looking tan. I even use it on my face and it doesn't break me out and it last around a full week before it really starts to fade. My only complaint is that I feel like I have that really strong "fake tan" smell for the first day or two but that happens with most self tanners anyhow. This looks so amazing the first day I went into work with it on I got four other girls to go out and buy it that very same day! Will absolutely buy over and over again!
Most Helpful Critical Review Disappointed Spray onto mitt and blend into skin. Do NOT try to spray this directly onto your skin or you're going to have a bad time. It sprays out hard and fast, very much like spray paint. Your own arms length is probably not long enough to have a good enough distance to evenly spray yourself like a "spray tan" without it gathering, dripping, and pooling by your feet. I read several other reviews of people spraying it directly on their skin and having a bad experience with this. Make sure you exfoliate well and have your skin prepped in advance, I personally like to start prepping my skin 2 weeks in advance but that's is just personal preference. Definitely not necessary. Now, I'm pasty pale, like I "glow" when the moonlight shine so on me at night okay lol and I started last week using the St. Topez gradual tan tinted lotion, I did 3 full body applications total, 1every other day. I honestly expected quite a bit more of a tan, and for it to be buildable. That didn't happen so this morning I tried my first application of this. I left it on for 6 hours, I really thought there would be a noticeable difference but I couldn't really tell, so I rinsed off real quick and dried and applied a second full body application using quite a bit heavier of an application, I've had it on for 3 hours now and I'm going to sleep in it and try another application tomorrow morning. My man came home from work and didn't even say anything, that's how unnoticeable this is. To say I'm disappointed is putting it lightly, for how much this costs I expected to be a bronzed goddess. I gave this three stars, if you are pale and looking for a good light tan to be slightly less blinding in your swimsuit on the beach, or it's the beginning of summer and you don't want to blind people with your legs (pale girl struggles lol) and you don't want a drastic dark tan then this is for you. It has a strong fragrance to it, but not bad. No orange tone either! Just not what I was looking for.

I'm pale with cool undertones, I started looking into self tan bcuz my skin doesn't tan, don't get it wrong I don't burn either. 35, never had a sunburn & never worn sunscreen in my life. Like anyone else who is pale my biggest concern with using a sunless tan was looking orange, and streaks. I slept with this on and didn't wake up orange or streaky… but I also wasn't as dark as I wanted to be, I rinsed, reapplied, went on with my day and rinsed off about 10 hours later. I still wasn't orange and much to my surprise I had no streaks anywhere. The color I got was a warm golden tone, it was noticeable after the first night but now I was looking like I'd been on vacation, or I guess how I see others when they've come back from vacation haha so I must inform you there is a trick to using this. Prep your body a whole day in advance, deep exfoliating, and moisturizing when you get out of the shower. Gently wash the day you plan to apply tan (don't shave bcuz it will "stick" to your follicles and your legs will have a bunch of tiny dots, this is why you prep the day before) now after you dry off go ahead and apply your moisturizer but only on your ankles, toe knuckles, heels, knees, elbows, hands and wrists. Let it sink in, give it a good 20 minutes at least. Now shake up the mist DONT spray directly on your body, spray it on your mitt! It dries a little fast so hurry up and buff it into your skin. Go over your whole body. Thankfully this is tinted so you will see if you miss any areas. Don't freak out, I know the guide color is a little orange, but it rinses off. This is why I opted to sleep in it. The guide color did transfer to the inside of my clothes, it's important to only wear very lose fitting clothes while this is setting, or be naked. It did not stain my clothes or sheets though! As soon as I took them off I put them in the wash with some regular tide detergent and it came right out, no soaking or scrubbing!
Great natural glow!! 5

This product is great! You absolutely need the mitt to buff, and I suggest just spraying product directly on the mitt or mist yourself standing in a shower you can rinse after. The first time I used it, I just misted myself and got it all over my bath mats, which are now stained. So I guess for that I'd give this 4.5/5 but that was my own fault honestly. It gives a nice natural glow and it's so nice to only have to have it on 3hr max. Other reviews said they only got 3 uses out of it, that's not my experience. I've used it 4 times and I'm estimating I've still got another 2 left in the bottle at least. I'm gonna try the mousse next time just out of curiosity but this is a great product!
My new go to for spray tanning 5
TL from Ohio
Having my own airbrush self tan sprayer, I tan myself almost weekly. Recently I didn't have enough time to set everything up so I ran up to Ulta to buy this in a rush. This is by far the easiest application of spray tan I've ever used. It is very comparable to the actual airbrush gun. I kept it on for 2 1/2 hours before lightly rinsing off and the color was perfect. It did continue to develop, and the color turned out perfectly.
Based off the other reviews about it being messy, this is the case with all spray applications. I just stood in the shower and sprayed myself to keep contained and rinsed the shower when I was finished. The trick is to continuously keep moving your arm while spraying. Especially with legs, you want to start from the hip and spray continuously in long sweeping motions all the way down. To avoid over spraying, keep the nozzle further away from your skin until you get the hang of it.
Loveeee!! 5

This is probably my favorite out of all of the St. Tropez products. The spray is so easy to use and then I use a mit to rub it in and let it set. You literally spray it on rub it in and go it doesn't leave a sticky after mess and you don't have to worry about transferring it to your sheets. I usually keep mine on overnight and wash it off in the morning. I end up with a nice even tan.
Color is nice but the application is terrible 2
Tananon1739 from MN
The biggest downfall of this product and why I won't purchase it again is the spray application. First, it gets everywhere. Huge mess. But, even if you don't mind the clean up... it still isn't worth it. It's nearly impossible to spray on a perfectly even tan. Lotions, mousses, etc allow for a much better application. The bottle only lasted me 3 uses:( my other tanning lotions allow for 10+ uses. I think it's because so much is wasted by spraying. The color was pretty but not dark enough for my liking. Also, there was no tanning smell which is shocking because I've never bought a tanner that doesn't come with the awful tan smell. So that's a plus. Won't buy again but would maybe try their lotion version!

This product does come out in a heavy mist so you would not want to do anywhere but outside or in a shower. Does not leave a strong smell and in 3 hours I had a gorgeous olive tan that my mom used to get and I was always jealous..Now I have it finally!!!!!! Will definitely purchase again....
WASTE OF TIME AND $$!!! 1
Riah.Rose. from Minnesota
ABSOLUTELY AWFUL!!! I hope they stop selling it! First, it completely paints the ENTIRE floor/area around you, orange/brown stained. Then, WAAAY more product is in the air than what comes out SUPER BLOTCHY on your body! RIDICULOUS!!! (Not good for my pregnant self or my poor dog.) Still just as sticky&slow drying as a mousse but WAY MORE MESSY. I honestly wasn't expecting much of a mist, and was preparing for this, but it was SO MUCH WORSE. Lazy reviewer here, but had to warn of this ABSOLUTE TRASH... I'm resourceful so I'll spray on a brush or mitt to use on my face instead of returning, but DO NOT WASTE THE $!
Amazing. 5

I've used just about everything for my face and this is the only thing that will not break me out. This product is absolutely amazing. Couldn't be better.
Totally worth it 4
YoYoMN from MN
The best way to apply this is spraying onto your mitt and then rubbing into skin (I cup my mitt a little to make sure the spray doesn't go everywhere too). Do not just spray this directly on you or it will be a messy disaster.
It dries so quickly and doesn't look crazy, so I can just get dressed and go. And it doesn't stink (major bonus for me)!!!
One con that I would say is if you are looking for something super dark, this isn't it. This will give you a nice natural looking light tan. So if that's what you're looking for, totally worth it!
Like Spray Painting Myself Green 1

Purchased on sale, so I don't feel bad about not using the rest of the bottle. It's the same dark color as the classic mousse except it dries almost immediately and is nearly impossible to apply evenly. I prefer their tanning lotion or classic mousse.
THIS SPRAY MAKES A DISASTER ZONE 3
Tennessee from SoCal
I have used almost every Brand of sunless Tanner under the Sun and I have to say this one Tan's everything in a one mile radius. Cats dogs birds smalle reptiles large reptiles husbands children Mother in law's. About half a bottle will do the trick. Also if you are into working out,This stuff is a elbow workout scrubbing off the shower. It's so bad I rented a hotel Room just to spray it in their bathroom and not my own because I didn't want to make the same mistake twice.

The smell... gag 1
Bmw from Columbus, Ohio
This product smelled so bad I almost vomited within 10 minutes after application. I sprayed, tried to continue with my routine and couldn't get passed the smell. I couldn't stand it anymore and had to shower immediately all over again. Had to wash my hair too to get the smell out. It was the worst experience.
Best tanning method 5
Manda from TN
I just spray this directly on to my skin. You have to hold it far away and no exactly where you want to spray it. I do this in my shower with the curtain closed (water not running lol). This is my "top up" that I do over the mousse I've applied
Great streak free color! 5

Goes on naturally with a nice bronze color and develops with a natural deep looking tan.

Definitely the best spray tanner I have ever used. 5
Mel from Chattanooga, TN
I usually spray my face and upper chest lightly and then dry with a hair dryer. I do this about 3 times. It works better than 1 heavy coat. It almost looks like airbrush makeup. it does wash out of most clothing. You may want to put something on the floor and behind you to keep the spray off surfaces. Washes off the wall easily with a little soap and water. Looks very natural, not orange.
Very messy 1
KP from KY
I thought this would solve the few problems I had with the mousse version of this....but somehow it made everything worse. Its very messy and got all over the floor. I thought it would make it easier to get my back but I found that I still had to rub in the product after spraying it on, so really there was no difference there. Also the color ended up being much lighter than the mousse version. All in all with as much time as it took to use this, and the mess it made, you are better off getting the mousse one.
Easiest spray tan 5
Stephanie from New Jersey
SO EASY!!!! You need to use the tanning mitt still and the best application! And do it in the shower so you don't make a mess!
I wouldn't waste your money 1

I did not like this product at all it's smeared all over and was super difficult to apply. I do however like the moves that they offer and plan to return this and exchange.
NO 1
Alex from Charleston, SC
No. Nope. This was gonna be my new go to for getting that hard to reach area on my back without having to beg someone to put on my tanning mitt and do it for me but NOOOOO! The spray is like the spray paint tool in Microsoft Paint. Exactly like it. Quite splotchy and has to be rubbed in immediately before it dries. And it dries fast.
MUST buy! 4
Lyss from Carrollton, OH
This has been the best spray tan product I have ever used! Better than getting it done at salons! I say this because it really didn't make me look orange! It didn't sit so well on my feet but it looked great everywhere else! It also lasted about a week before it started to get spotty! I used it for my brothers wedding and vacation and it didn't rub off onto my dress or other clothing! I was very impressed!
LOVE! ❤️ 5
K from TX
Love this! It's easy to use (with a mitt and in the shower) quick to tan and fades quite nicely. My husband even noticed the pleasant smell which was nice, considering I've tried some tanners that smelled pretty awful and never heard the end of it. Would be perfect to use the night before an event or regularly to for a beautiful sun kissed glow!
Beautiful tan, even for the palest skin. 5
Not-So-Pale Anymore from Atlanta, GA
This is the first time I have ever used a self-tanner. I'm as white as white gets, but this game me the most natural tan. I only left it on for an hour and I have a beautiful golden glow, without a hint of orange. HOWEVER IT IS MESSY! I applied in the shower and used a mitt, so that my palms would not stain and so I could rinse the shower after I was done. I made sure to moisturize dry areas like my knees, elbows, and feet, and was left with no strange dark patches except on the bottoms of my feet. Only a couple days have passed since the application and so far I have not noticed any uneven fading.
Love it!! Gives you a golden goddess glow 5
Julia from Charlotte NC
Love it!! Gives you a golden goddess glow. Used it before the beach and worked amazing. It looked like I tanned by the beach for two weeks! Left it on for over three hours and it wasn't ridiculously dark. Perfect shade
