Q&A

Q
Can I wash this in a washing machine?
Asked by Kelly
Official Answer By KITSCH - Brand Engage
Yes, the Kitsch Satin-Lined Flexi Shower Cap is machine washable. Use cold water on a gentle cycle, place it in a mesh bag, and use mild detergent. Always air dry and avoid heat to protect the lining and elastic. For best results, wash every 1–2 weeks to keep it clean and in good condition. Was this answer helpful to you
Q
How is this cap different than the satin lined shower cap?
Asked by Hk
Official Answer By KITSCH - Brand Engage
Apologies for the confusion. The material and construction of the Satin-Lined Shower Cap Terracotta and the Satin-Lined Flexi Shower Cap Cherry are the same. The only differences are the print and a typo in the Terracotta product name. Both versions should be labeled as “Satin-Lined Flexi Shower Cap.”Was this answer helpful to you
Q
Can this shower cap be washed in the washing machine? Or how can it be sanitized?
Asked by Kansas Meg

Here are our tips & tricks for taking the best care of your Satin-lined shower cap: 1. Gentle Hand Wash: We recommend hand washing your shower cap to preserve its shape and material integrity. This gentle approach is key to maintaining the quality of the recycled and delicate fabrics. 2. Cold Water and Mild Detergent: Use cold water combined with a mild detergent. Cold water is less harsh on the fabric, and a gentle detergent will help maintain the integrity of the cap’s materials. 3. Avoid Bleach and Harsh Chemicals: To protect the fabric’s color and texture, avoid using bleach or any harsh cleaning agents. Do Not Wring: After washing, avoid wringing out the cap. This can damage the delicate fabric blend, especially the interlining. Gently squeeze out the excess water instead. 4. Air Dry: Lay the cap flat or hang it up to air dry. It’s best to avoid direct sunlight as it can cause fading and weaken the fabrics. Do not use a tumble dryer as the heat can damage the materials. 5. Do Not Iron: Ironing is not recommended as the extreme heat can damage the fabric Storage: When not in use, store your shower cap in a cool, dry place. Keep it away from direct sunlight and heat sources to maintain its shape and material quality. 6. Regular Refreshing: If the cap starts to retain moisture or odor, a gentle wash as described above should refresh it without damaging the materials. Was this answer helpful to you

Worth the extra money

For starters, I have a large head so its difficult to find things for my head that aren't too tight. I'd said it's a good fit being that it kept the moisture out without leaving a mark on my forehead. The inside is plasticky so I wrapped my hair in a satin scarf, also by kitsch, first. I think that ...

Too small

I feel like I have a normal head. I read reviews that it was way too big or way too small. For me its too small. It's uncomfortable to put on and that was with my hair down. Theres no way it would stretch over my hair up without causing a headache. Ive been using shhhowercap for years but ship times...

I've had this shower cap for about 8 months and the wire that shuts the cap close is now BROKEN. Both Kitsch and Ulta were unable to provide me with any or adequate solutions. Kitsch only offered me a discount code and Ulta offered nothing. No solutions because it has been over 90 days. This isn't a "i don't like it and want my money back" situation. I did like the shower cap but now it's BROKEN. I can't keep water out if the cap won't close properly. Two big companies who make plenty of money were unable to provide me with a replacement or store credit, but when my spray bottle nozzle from a mom and pop shop broke after 3 months they replaced it free of charge. SHAMEFUL!

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend to a friend

Won't keep water out

Although this shower cap design is unique and new, it just doesn't work. It's a tube with an elastic end and a loose end with a wire that you are supposed to roll up and tighten. It's not practical, and I've used it at least half a dozen times over the past few weeks and I've had wet hair most of the time from water coming in through where the wire is. I've done it how the instructions said to and I also curled it downwards instead, but it just doesn't work that well. I'm going back to my classic shower cap. It gets a star for creativity.

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend to a friend

Horrible product.

Smelled like fish when I opened it. Also, why not make a normal shower cap without a goofy bending opening? Doesnt even fit all my hair. Do not buy. Ill be retuning.

Does what you need it to do

I highly suggest washing it when you unbox it from the package. It has a very distinct smell. And the bow gets in the way of water flow when washing your face in the shower. Either untie it and redo the bow or get a hot glue gun.

My daughter has very big and textured hair. This is the only shower cap which gives her coverage and gets her excited because it's cute. Well done.
