- Q
I tried this for the first time today, and so far so good! I put it on after moisturizer and before foundation (probably 20 minutes between each of those steps) and it left my skin kind of a mint green shade...is that normal or did I use too much product? I had hoped it would soak in and the color would go away but it did not. However, foundation covered it beautifully and my redness isn't showing through, so I am incredibly happy!

What Clinique product is best for redness relief or rosascia?
- Asked by sarah
- Official Answer By Clinique USWe are happy to help. To reduce persistent redness and calm skin, we suggest Clinique Redness Solutions Soothing Cleanser melts away makeup and impurities, Clinique Redness Solutions Daily Relief Cream calms, comforts and hydrates, and Redness Solutions Daily Protective Base corrects visible redness and protects with SPF, prepping skin for makeup. This system calms and comforts skin, quelling visible redness and averting future flare-ups and is appropriate for skins with Rosacea. For best results, use twice per day. - Q
Hello - I need a little help applying this product. When I use it, I use it on top of a pore minimizing primer for smoothness. However, after I apply it, the clinique primer will bunch up, dry and get "piecey". Am I not applying it properly? Does it not rub in all the way? Or do we rub it in all the way quickly before drying? Better with fingers vs sponge, need more time to dry after the primer is applied? I would like to use both because the primer provides smoothness but I like the clinqiue one for redness and SPF protection, but I'm afraid I can't use both if this one looks cakey and bunchy after applying. Please provide some guidance on how to apply it with both primers (or just one). Thank you!
- Asked by Jewbee
- Official Answer By Clinique USThanks for asking, we are happy to assist. Clinique Redness Solutions Daily Protective Base SPF 15 acts a primer which sounds like the cause of other primers "gathering" or "bunching up". We suggest for best results, only using one and it should be the last product applied before foundation. - Q
How would this fit in my daily morning regimen? I wash, tone, moisturize, pore minimize primer (T zone only), then apply this all over, and then foundation?
- Asked by Jewbee
- Official Answer By Clinique USThanks for reaching out! You are correct. Redness Solutions Daily Protective Base SPF 15 is an oil-free makeup primer with a sheer green tint that visually corrects redness, for best results applied prior to foundation. Shielding skin from the UVA/UVB exposure that can aggravate redness-prone skin, without chemical sunscreens. For additional application tips for success chat with a Beauty Advisor at your local Ulta. I use Clinique's Pore Minimizer (THE BEST) before applying my Stay Matte Foundation in the summer or Even Better Glow in winter (both in Alabaster.) I tried a Dr. Jart Cicapair redness cream (starts out green) and it gave me the most even color my skin has ever had - without needing any foundation! (I still needed the Pore Minimizer in my T-Zone.) Unfortunately, the Cicapair also broke out my skin terribly. I was wondering if one of Clinique's redness products would give me the same results as the Cicapair - but without the breakouts!

I have used Clinique (love it) but I have never used the facial primer. I just wanted to know if the primer covers over the fine lines so that my foundation won't settle into the creases.
- Asked by Janny
- Verified Reply - Brand ExpertHi! Primers will help you achieve more of a flawless finish. They are not designed to necessarily cover lines but will help your foundation to wear during the day, which in turn will help in concealing lines. This one specifically has a green tint, so its main purpose is to minimize the look of redness on the skin. Was this answer helpful to you

I'm a natural redhead and therefore prone to sunburn. This product protects my skin from the sun and perfects my skintone on those days when it is just a bit too rosy. It also serves as a wonderful corrector for foundations which are not exactly the right shade for my skin. (It is really difficult t...

Disappointment
I had high hopes for this product. I love the rest of the Redness Solutions line. The green does hide the redness. However, this product seems to ball up into flakes that take FOREVER to remove. By the time the flakes/balls of product are removed, it's a half hour later and nearly all of the product...

I tried this a couple of times and do not like this at all. It pills little green balls all over your face and there is little to no redness cover. I love Clinique and have been using the product since the early 1990's and this is one product I've disliked immensely. I do NOT recommend this at all.
Good redness cover and bonus spf
I like that this product has spf but the issue is it goes on like spf - thick. It does not work well as a primer that would be silky smooth. -Does a good job of redness reduction and I find I can actually go without makeup. I asked the clerk for a redness reduction primer that was silky and she suggested this - she 100% missed the mark.

I have used this product for 5+ years and loved it! A few years ago, the product changed and no longer dries to a powdery finish. Because of this, it doesn't stay put as well when I add foundation over it. I have tried waiting for it to dry longer, and have tried other foundations, but it is a problem with the primer. I wish you'd bring back the powder finish! It was awesome!!
Pills up... disappointing!

I decided to give this product a try after Clinique discontinued the Pore Refining Solutions Instant Perfector. This product is absolute awful! It does nothing to reduce redness. It also has a weird texture. It's clumpy when applying and makes a mess, it just wouldn't blend into my skin and pills into little balls. A huge money waste! Clinique, please pay attention to the reviews and bring back the Pore Refining Solutions, it was such a phenomenal product.
