Berries and Bourbon in the Cold

[I received this product in exchange for my honest review] First spray and it's all about the blackcurrant. It's dark, juicy, kind of like biting into ripe bernes areas an the sour kick so it never feels like candy. There's some orange mixed in there too that brightens everything up, so the openin...g feels fresh and fun, almost like something cold and fruity on a nice evening. Underneath all that there's a clean lavender that gives it that crisp, fresh-out-the-barbershop vibe. Give it about twenty minutes and it turns into something cozier. The vanilla comes forward and it's warm and creamy, a little boozy even, but not the super sweet dessert kind. The sandalwood shows up too and makes it smooth and almost milky. There's a bit of pine in there as well, that fresh Christmas tree kind of smell, which keeps it from getting too heavy. And that blackcurrant from the start never fully leaves. It just chills in the background the whole time, which is what makes this one actually stand out instead of smelling like every other fresh cologne. The best part is how balanced it is. Sweet but not too sweet. Fresh but still grown and masculine. Young without smelling like a teenager. You can wear it to work, wear it on a date, or just running errands, and it works every time. Now the performance. This thing hits pretty hard the first couple hours. The projection is strong early on, throwing off a scent trail that people around you will notice from a few feet away, so it definitely turns heads. After around four hours it calms down and settles into a nicer bubble that stays closer to you, but you can still catch it easily. On skin you're looking at around eight to ten hours before it fades to just a light skin scent. On a shirt it's even better and can hang around into the next day, sometimes longer if you don't wash it right away. The sillage is moderate to strong depending on how heavy you spray, so two or three sprays is plenty. Go too crazy and it can get a little much because of the sweetness. As for weather, this one leans toward fall and winter. That warm vanilla, woody, pine drydown feels perfect for cooler days and cozy nights. That said, the bright fruity opening keeps it wearable in spring too, and you can even get away with it on a cooler summer evening. Just maybe avoid it in real high heat, because the sweetness can turn a bit too much when it's hot. Oh, and the bottle is sick. it looks like a little flask with a flip cap that folds to the side, so you can spray it one handed. Feels premium. Bottom line, this thing smells really good and it's super easy to wear. It's not doing anything crazy new, but it nails that sweet and fresh vibe better than most, and the performance backs it up. Easy to see why a lot of people end up making this their everyday scent.
