Swivel up lip liner only 1/8-inch (pencil does not retract to avoid exposing formula to air, which is drying). Recap securely when finished to protect formula.
Follow dot-dot-dash method to ensure ease and accuracy of application: Draw two dots on upper lip's bow, a dash across bottom of lower lip, then connect all three.

Wish I was happier
I love Clinique products and have been a long time user. I went to purchase my all time favorite lip liner, Tender Taupe, only to be told that it was discontinued. I was very disappointed. I wasn't even able to purchase it from Clinique.com. In any event, I decided to try the new intense lip liners....

This liner glides on smoothly and blends well with several lipsticks. The color can be buildable to give the color intensity I want.
Broke on the inside
I bought this lip liner and after just two weeks of use the part that you twist to push the product up just stopped working. This was extremely frustrating because no matter how I twisted it the product no longer would come out and I had plenty on lip liner left. Waste of money

Best lip liner I've used and I have a drawer full of other brands that aren't. Intense Blush is perfect to wear with lip color or without, just adding some gloss. It hides my fine lip lines instead of accentuating them. Love this.
Tube Arrives Almost Empty

I have loved using Clinique Quickliner for decades and each tube would last for months. However, the past six or seven that I have purchased have only lasted two or three weeks! I have applied the Quickliner a couple of times a day as usual. I just weighed a new tube right out of the box as well as an empty one that lasted two weeks and they both weigh 6 grams. Come on Clinique, stop ripping us off! Do not buy this product as you will waste your money.
