Key Ingredients
- Salicylic Acid (1%): an acne medicine that clears blemishes and helps prevent new ones from forming by encouraging the shedding of dead skin cells and helping to keep pores clear.
- Biodegradable Exfoliating Beads: work together with salicylic acid to help slough away dull, dry layers of dead skin cells, helping to clear pores and prep them for the Pore Targeting Treatment.
- Aloe: helps to soothe and moisturize the skin
- Sulfate-Free Cleanser: a naturally derived, sulfate-free cleansing agent designed to gently remove dirt, sweat, makeup and other impurities from the skin.

For best results: Treat your whole face twice a day, morning and night. Apply a small amount to dampened skin. Using your fingertips, gently massage in circular motions for 1 to 2 minutes. Rinse thoroughly with warm water. Pat dry and follow with Step 2, Pore Targeting Treatment and Step 3, Complexion Perfecting Hydrator. If going outside, follow with sunscreen.
Proactiv+ Smoothing BHA Cleanser: For external use only. When using this product skin irritation and dryness is more likely to occur if you use another topical acne medication at the same time. If irritation occurs, only use one topical acne medication at a time. Stop use and ask a doctor if irritation becomes severe. Keep out of reach of children. If swallowed, get medical help or contact a Poison Control Center right away.

I've been using the Proactiv Plus Smoothing BHA Cleanser for a few weeks now, and it's become a solid part of my routine. I enjoyed this cleanser; it's not too stripping b/c I've used other cleansers with salicylic acid in them and they left my skin feeling dry and tight afterwards. This one didn't! No scent (imo?) and there are small granules that give me that enjoyable exfoliating feeling. :) Also great for traveling b/c it's under the 3oz/100ml limit! Disclosure: I received this product for free in exchange for my honest review. I've been using this face wash for about two weeks, and I'm really impressed with how gentle it is on the skin. It cleans very, very well without ever leaving my face feeling dry or tight. With daily use, my skin stayed soft and balanced, but all the dirt and impurities were completely removed. Even though it seems to be formulated for acne-prone skin, I don't have acne myself, and I didn't find it drying like many other "acne-friendly" products tend to be. My skin actually looked more even and felt smoother during the time I used it. I can't really say how effective it is for acne since I only got one small pimple, and it didn't disappear right away or dry out. But overall, I think this product stands out mainly because it cleans deeply yet remains gentle—a combination that's hard to find.

I enjoy how faomy it can get, its very smooth when you apply it on. Once removed it doesn't leave your face dry which I really enjoy, plus it has BHA which is a plus.
