Not great.

I applied a dime sized amount of this to my shoulder length hair while damp. My hair is 2B, bleached, fine, and high porosity (even in the unbleached areas). The goal was increased moisture retention and less frizz. This leave in did seem to do both of those things, but my hair's texture seemed off... somehow. It did not curl and wave in it's usual pattern. Like, it still did those things, just in an odd way. My hair felt weighed down with an unnatural amount of slip. Like there was a layer of -something- on top of my hair. It felt weird/gross and looked bad. I'm used to products being too heavy for me but something about this one felt especially bad. Once my hair was fully dry, I thought, "I bet there's a ton of dimethicone in this." Sure enough, dimethicone is near the top of the ingredients list. My mistake for not checking, but still. Ugh. I don't avoid silicones in general because they can be really helpful for masking damage, but dimethicone specifically makes my hair feel nasty. I know a lot of folks with tighter curl patterns also tend to feel this way, so I'm surprised that there was so much dimethicone in a product marketed specifically towards curly hair at this price point. For me personally this is a one star product but I'm giving more because I realize that this probably was intended for folks with thicker hair and tighter curl patterns than mine, so for others it may be a better experience. Still though, I think you can get something equivalent for a much lower cost.
