Begin by outlining the cupid's bow. Fill in the remainder of the top lip. Outline the bottom lip and fill.

I definitely liked the old formula of the matte finish lipsticks before it was changed. This new line of matte lipsticks definitely bleeds. And it's really annoying because towards the end of the day it looks like I didn't know how to put on my lipstick. The previous formula would stay on perfectly and never bleed. Has anyone done anything to fix that? Side note: I've been using this brand of products for a long time. So I know their products very well.

Extremely hard to get right
ABH auburn lipstick is a beautiful color. It pulls quite red on me. I am sad to say I do not care for this lipstick. It is very hard to get right the first time. Uncomfortable and drying
While I liked the color, this lipstick was not comfortable to wear. It felt drying. I also didn't like the taste/smell
Not so pigmented...
This lipstick smells great, but it is actually quite difficult to apply enough to get decent coverage. Perhaps using a lip brush would work better? You have to really press hard to get any product onto the lips so it's difficult to determine how pigmented it might be or how long lasting it is. I'm thinking of returning it for some of the line's awesome lipglosses.
Shades are misleading online
I ordered and received the Sugar Plum shade, but it is so kuch darker than it looks in any of the swatches on here. I will be returning it and getting a different shade.
Royal Red versus pale skin
This is specifically for the pale folk who are looking for a good neutral blood red that doesnt look hot pink when it wears down. Unfortunately, Royal Red is not that girl for me. It's nearly identical to Russian Red from MAC, which is a magenta-leaning red (sometimes mistakenly called a "blue based red"). Neutral red has more yellow—its not orange, but when you sheer it out, it still looks like the same color of red, just sheerer, whereas cooler reds look more magenta sheered out, and warmer reds look more orange. I wanted Royal Red to be the color on the box, but on me, it's hot pink around the edges. Still looking for that perfect, neutral blood red bullet lipstick. (Stila Beso is a good option in a liquid lipstick, but i wanted something deeper.) Royal Red would probably work great on warmer/deeper skin. Formula seems great. Very similar to the MAC silky matte. I would try a different color.
The best
The satin finish is beautiful and so is my favorite shade of all time, taupe beige. It's the perfect rosy beige color for fair/light - light medium skin tones in my opinion. I've used up several tubes over the years. I
