There are serious issues with the spring that allows you to open and close the iron to curl. It's like the spring gets too hot, softens, and ends up stuck and the iron won't close all the way to secure the hair. I use the tool the way it is intended. [I received this product in exchange for my honest review] This curling iron has made curling hair a breeze! My daughters both have long hair so the length of the curling iron has cut time in half. The barrel size gives the perfect loose curls or soft waves. I like how quickly it heats up, generally in under a minute and it is ready to go. The metal glides over the hair without sticking or pulling, creating a smooth curl every time.
