Before use, pumps should be unlocked.
To Unlock:
- Hold the dip tube (straw-like portion) in one hand, just below where the pump meets the cap.
- Place your other hand on the top of the pump.
- Twist the pump top away from you while twisting the dip tube toward you in the opposite direction.
- The pump will pop up when unlocked.
Pro Tip: You can re-lock the pump for travel or storage to help prevent leaking.
To Install:
- Twist off the cap of your amika liter shampoo or conditioner bottle.
- Insert the unlocked pump into the bottle opening.
- Twist the base securely into place.
- Prime with 1--3 test pumps to release air.
- Repeat for your second bottle.

Pumps are not the average pumps!
Why can't they just work like normal product pumps!? The other girls comment about the pumps saved me!

I got this set yesterday st my local Ulta. Pretty standard pumps, at least at first, but then you try to open it… that's a whole other issue. Since these things don't come with instructions, who knew we would need them?? After fighting with it for a while I thought they were broken because I couldn't get the pump to pop up. Resigned to having to take it back, I went on the Ulta app to look to see if they had another type of liter pumps. Then inseen the comment / review about Instagram. Google search is my friend and i was able to find the post about how to open these darn things.. Here is a brief HOW TO OPEN THE AMIKA LITER PUMPS SO YOU WONT HAVE TO GOOGLE IT LIKE I DID!!1. First put the pump on the bottle, and tighten it up as much as you can until you can't possibly turn it anymore. 2. Twist the top of the pump counter clock wise and VOILA- like magic, it will open! Hope this review helps anyone else who struggled with these pumps! Amika.. you are selling these as your Liter Pumps for your brand. A nice label on the package would have been helpful with a couple brief instructions on how to get them to open and work. Saves a lot of hassle and grief to thise of us who buy your products. You can do better……
