Pen is Deceptive
Well...I was a bit perplexed, when my pen ran dry so quickly. Used to love it, but ...
This was my go-to for years; I've been using it since they released it. Lately there have been lots of inconsistency in the formulas, and I've been trying different shades that all have different issues. I changed shades from Ash Brown to Brunette and got the Brow Glue. I noticed that my eyebrows were turning hot pink (!!!!) almost immediately after doing my brows! I know some product combos can destabilize color, but I was surprised the NYX products did not work together. I returned the brow gel and tried another, same issue. So I did some experimenting and realized it's just the brow pen. No matter how I apply it: dry skin, primed skin, over foundation, removing moisturizer, brow gel, no brow gel, etc., same problem. I have also noticed that it is very sensitive to sunlight as well. I swatched it on my arm while working and the color still shifted, so even indoors on dry skin it doesn't work right. See my photos for some evidence of those swatches. When I went to Ulta to return it, I swatched the other shades I've used before (without issue previously) on my arm, and they also shifted when I left the store. I had also noticed the last Ash Brown I bought was not as smudge-proof and actually got a little clumpy, which is crazy because this product is so thin and slightly transparent. I have made zero changes to my routine that would cause this, and even if I had, this product is unusable if it can't be worn outdoors. There must have been a change here and I am very disappointed that my favorite brow product is not what it used to be.
Love and hate relationship
I used to love this pen, but for some odd reason the base leaks so bad the moment you start using it. I even bought some for my kit and they all leak. Very frustrating, outside of the leaking it works really well and last all day and yes, I am an oily gal.
My "Go to" for my brows!!!
I have been using the lift and snatch brow tint pen for years! It is my go to for my brows. I get so many compliments on my brows because this pen gives the appearance of natural hair. I recommend this to all of my friends and family!
My go to
If you like natural, looking brows and want to draw on your own hairs, this is the perfect eyebrow pencil. It is made like a felt tip, eyeliner pen, and you can make the thinnest hair strokes with it.
Don't waste your $
The pen itself is great, however the color oxidizes when applied. I got the Taupe color and it turns very warm.
