The CHI Lava 4D Hairstyling Iron features the power of CHI Lava minerals and ceramic providing less damage and overall healthier hair.
I have super thick, frizzy, natural curly hair. I used to own a babyliss. The day I received I wash dried and sat down on my couch (yess I was tired and being lazy haha) to straighten my hair. My hair came out super straight for me not in front of a mirror. I Usually straighten my hair at night and then redo in the morning In order for it to be straight and frizz free. With this iron I done my hair that night before bed and only had to touch up in the morning! Completely Amazed!!!
When my Sedu Revolution (which Ulta no longer carries) died, I spent a lot of time comparing flat iron reviews on the Ulta website. Based on the reviews, plus hearing for years how wonderful Chis were, I went with the Chi Lava Ceramic. It's advertised that you can use it at lower temperatures than you'd normally use when using a flat iron. I did not find this to be the case AT ALL. My hair is wavy & thin on top. Because it's thin, I try to use a low temperature when straightening. With the Sedu I'd set the temperature to around 300F & it would straighten my hair. Tried the same temp with the Chi Lava. All it did was flatten my hair, not straighten it. Tried bumping up the temperature to see if that would help. Tried it on several temperatures & went all the way up to 400F. All it did was leave my hair flat. I get that it's a flat iron, so it might leave hair flat. What I DON'T expect is for a flat iron to not straighten my hair. I tried multiple passes on a small section of hair (at high temps I don't want to fry my hair, especially since it's so thin), but my hair was still wavy. It's going back. Super disappointed. Now I'll have to wait for another 20% coupon so I can afford a new flat iron :(
I just started using this hair dryer and LOVE it! It dries my hair so fast and it's so light weight! Some others on the market are so bulky. It's also very chic!
This is the tiniest hairdryer ever but it was so strong that my bathroom lights flickered! (My house is an OLD house haha). I like the magnetic attachments. I haven't tried the diffuser, but I have tried all the heat and air settings. It left a great blowout.
After only 17 months i had sparks blow out of the hairdryer and land on my head. I contacted CHI and because it was past the 1 yr warranty, they only offered me 15% off a future purchase. Too bad the class action lawsuit just closed or else I'd join
My hair is fried off, I used this flat Iron for the first time and my hair has a lot of heat damage. My hair has not reverted to my curly hair. I used it to straighten my mother's hair the same day and her hair started falling off and will not revert back to curly. I am very disappointed in this iron.
I am a lisenced cosmetologist, in the past other companies once proof of purchase is confirmed send the replacement tools BEFORE asking yout o ship the broken parts, that way I can keep working. Not only does chi want me to return my hair dryer first, but everytime I reach out to a representative they cop paste the same word by word responce. I cant afford a diffrent hair dryer right now but if I could I would now buy ANYTHING but chi, why have a warrenty if it would put me out of work for at LEAST one month?! NO THANK YOU
