I received the Chi Lava flat iron as a gift and was excited to replace my 10 year old Hot Tools flat iron. Unfortunately the plates did not align correctly when straightening and my hair would fall through the opening. I exchanged it for a new one. The second one aligned better but made a clicking noise at the base. I ultimately had to return it.
good for curly hair
I really like this. we have had it for about a year. it smooths with only one or 2 passes and leaves our hair looking good even if I air dry it and then straighten. iykyk. I do wish I got the 1" because I can't curl as well with it as I can with a 1" straightener.
Sadly, not made as they use to be
Had a few days and used twice. I do not recommend. Back to Bionic or ghd.
Don't buy from Ulta
This straightener stopped working after 4 months. The buttons stopped working and the device would not heat. Ulta has a 60 day return policy and so would not let me exchange. Clearly this tool should have lasted more than 4 months.

Do not buy this if you have wavy to curly hair. This does not straighten hair well. My old con air did a better job than this chi. So dissatisfied because it is expensive and does not do its job. Leaves ur hair frizzy as well.
