A soft matte essential

[I received this product in exchange for my honest review] I've been testing the Anastasia Beverly Hills Impeccable Setting Spray for a while now, and it has become a staple setting spray for when I want to achieve a natural, soft matte makeup look. First off the packaging is sleek, minimal and true... to Anastasia's signature aesthetic. The cap opens and closes smoothly and securely, which makes it feel even more luxe. The mist is ultra-fine and sprays a soft, even cloud that melts everything together seamlessly. The nozzle sprays perfectly, giving an effortless application every time without leaving droplets or splotches. When first applied, it feels a little sticky, but that tackiness quickly disappears, leaving a lightweight, undetectable finish. It layers beautifully with all my other products and never disturbs the makeup underneath. On the skin, it delivers a soft-blurring, matte finish that looks polished but never dry, even on my normally dry skin. With good shine control it helped my makeup stay locked in place all day. I recently wore it to a Charli xcx concert, and by the end of the night, my makeup and skin still looked beautiful. In my opinion, this setting spray truly shines when paired with a full glam look. It enhances without weighing things down. And overall the look you'll achieve with this setting spray is a gentle soft matte look. Not fully flat or powdery but velvety soft focus matte. And it is certainly not dewy so if you're looking for a dewy finish, this product is not for you. I think it needs to be more clear that it is more of a natural, soft matte setting spray with a touch of hydration for that "skin-like" complexion. One thing to note is the scent. It has a clean, slightly perfumey fragrance that you can definitely smell when spraying it on your face. While it does fade quickly, I'd be cautious if you have a sensitive nose, it might not be ideal for those sensitive to fragrance. Another consideration is that it contains Alcohol Denat, which can be drying or irritating for sensitive skin. My skin isn't sensitive, so it doesn't bother me, but it's worth noting. Overall, this setting spray has earned a permanent spot in my full-glam makeup routine. It's reliable, refined, and makes my makeup look softly matte and blurred.
