OBSESSED
Ive used about face matte shadows for forever and i've tried her shimmer formula before and I was unimpressed, but these eyeshadow specifically have a mouse-y thicker texture, which makes it easy to blend with your finger or if you wanted to use a brush to diffuse it with a little bit of work it doe...

I'm A Star is just OK.
This was my first time trying any AF products, but I had high hopes because they've been popular. I bought the "I'm A Star" eye paint but I'm not getting the color shift I expected, no matter what light it's in. It looks as expected and really beautiful in the packaging, but on the skin I mainly see...

It burns!
I really wanted to love this eye paint. I've used other about me paints and they were lovely, and the color shift with this is gorgeous. It goes on easy, but that's where the fun ends. Within 10 minutes, my eyelids were BURNING. Even with primer and another shadow beneath. When i looked in the mirror, fallout everywhere. My lashes, under my eyes, everything was covered. My eyelids? Completely bare for about 50% of where i had applied. Now, granted the burning is likely just my personal reaction to the product, but I've never experiended that before (and I lived through the late 90s where we'd slap any glitter we could get ahold of onto our lids) so I would just be cautious to try at home before you wear it out.
Nice color shift
I bought Little Twin and it applied to to my bare eyelid and up to my brow bone. It has a nice lilac color shift and matches my skin tone without looking too pastel or washed out (I have warm/neutral undertones and light/medium skin). It also dries down pretty quickly and stays put. I felt like I didn't need to add anything else; this looked great on its own! I'm also 43, so my eyelids are starting to sag and I don't wear eye makeup that much anymore. This isn't everyday wear but would work for a fun trip or party.
Allergic
First time trying out About Face line and was disappointed to discover I am allergic. Not sure what exactly caused it but my eyelids became extremely itchy, red and swollen after wearing the eyepaint for a couple of hours. I even tried the About Face eyeshadow primer woth then and still had the same reaction. Bummer! I really loved the colors (I'm a Star, Next Caller), nice sheet look with flashes of sparkle - so neat!! I had an easy return experience, as well, Ulta has always been great with their return policy. Although not for me, I would still recommend the eyepaint to anyone.
I'm A Star is just OK.
This was my first time trying any AF products, but I had high hopes because they've been popular. I bought the "I'm A Star" eye paint but I'm not getting the color shift I expected, no matter what light it's in. It looks as expected and really beautiful in the packaging, but on the skin I mainly see hot pink shimmer. I was also hoping for a little more opacity, as the description made it sound the base would have at least a little bit. But it's pretty much clear with iridescent shimmer, and the colors I see somehow aren't as shown in any of the AF official photos or color swatches made by people that I looked at before buying. (I have fair-light skin, by the way.) Still a pretty product and has great staying power. I'll eventually try this product over an actual opaque white base and maybe that could help with how the product shows.
love love love
i wear glasses and it's kind of annoying that my eye makeup constantly goes unnoticed but the about face holographic and glitter shadows are so bright, i always get compliments ! ☀️
