The Ordinary recommends performing a patch test prior to incorporating a new product into your skin care routine.
Apply a small amount to face in the PM as part of your skincare regimen, after water serums but before heavier treatments. Do not use with other retinoid treatments. Avoid unprotected solar exposure. Store in a cool, dry place.

I am in my forties and was using the 2% in Emulsion for a few years, but lately my age was showing and the skin underneath my eye along my cheek and nasolabial folds was looking crepey. I started seriously considering some pricey dermatology clinic stuff. After switching to this, no need! My skin looks incredibly good. The texture is definitely oily. I use four drops at night after a niacinamide serum, and I massage it in as well as I can. I can't say it feels like it sinks in. It feels pretty greasy. But my skin tends to dryness, so I'm used to massaging oils into my face at bedtime. I apply a simple moisturizer over this, also massaged in, and a few drops of marula oil, because like I said I'm dry. In the morning I glow and my skin texture is plump and smooth. This is what retinoids are for!
