The Skinfix Ceramide + Ectoin Gentle Gel Cleanser is, in fact, a very gentle cleanser. It is free of any fragrance, removes makeup effortlessly, and overall, a decent face wash. The first time I used it, I was removing a full face of makeup and thought I actually had a good experience using it. I di...d not experience any dryness whatsoever and my face felt smooth, clean, and moisturized. It removed all of my makeup - even putting it to the test with a certain waterproof mascara I can never remove without some sort of pre-cleanse product first. However, when I went for my morning routine, I was left feeling really confused. I had a slightly different experience. I was expecting my face to be left moisturized at least to the extent it did the night before, but it was not. My face did feel smooth, it had a nice brightness, but it also felt tight, dry, and begging for a moisturizer. This dryness was very unexpected especially when ceramide is the star ingredient in this product. Another thing I noticed, while yes, the formula is lightweight, it is not as concentrated as other facial cleansers I've used in the past. When I think of a gel formula, I imagine a much thicker product. This is more like a watered-down gel formula. While it does turn into an ok foamy goodness that feels nice on your skin, it does not produce that rich, thick foam I was hoping for. I love how they designed the lid to make it easy to dispense the product, I was just taken back by how much I actually needed to use. No pea-sized amount would do, more like a nickel size. I feel this just added to my letdown. It's important to know that I am a huge Skinfix fan. It's always my go-to brand when it comes to my personal skincare needs. Having worked in the beauty industry for 18 years now, I often recommend Skinfix to my clients. This is not a terrible product, I don't hate it, and it is much better than most. Maybe my expectations are just set extremely high with this brand, however I know the quality they are capable of producing. When I say it literally pains me to write a Skinfix product review and not give it 5 stars, I'm not lying. It's hurting my soul to write this. But I'm here to share my honest opinion. Bottom line, I do not believe they have reached "Skinfix quality" with this particular product and I'm hoping to see a "new & improved" version in the near future.
