Shimmery Black, great match for salt-and-pepper
I'm glad that an Ulta beauty consultant at my store recommended this Shimmery Black eyeliner to me. I wanted a neutral eyeliner to harmonize with my salt-and-pepper hair color. On me, plain black is too harsh, browns are too warm, and greys look too cold and flat. Shimmery Black is not garish or glittery and matches my hair color perfectly! The formula is smooth and has leeway for intentional smudging, but once it sets, it does not transfer. The color lasts well yet also washes off with my usual foaming cleanser. I have sharpened it once so far, and like other soft pencils, I can achieve a soft-rounded point at best. My consultant noted that there is product all the way down to the end, compared with self-sharpening liners that have the swivel mechanism taking up much of the space/length of the all-plastic casing. Somehow that had never occurred to me, and I will never look at a plastic swivel liner the same way again. I prefer liners that I can sharpen to keep the tip hygienic, anyway, so I'm glad this liner is packaged this way.

Not only difficult to sharpen but the 'lead' swivels and gets pushed back into the pencil shaft when you apply pressure so very diffcult to use.
Smears
I really wanted to like this eyeliner. The color is nice but it is thick and smears. It lasted about an hour.
