Q
Does this product contain a DHT blocker?
Asked by Celly
Official Answer By Virtue - Brand Engage
Hello, Minoxidil is not a DHT blocker. It works by shortening the resting phase (telogen) and prolonging the growth phase (anagen) of the hair cycle and increasing blood flow to follicles — but it does not inhibit DHT like finasteride, dutasteride, saw palmetto, etc.Was this answer helpful to you
Q
I have loss of hair growth due to scalp picking which caused lots of damage/injury to my scalp. The hair in this area barely grows now, will this product be effective for this type of hair loss? I see that it says it's best for people who have hair loss due to hormones or stress so I don't want to get it if it won't work for hair loss due to scalp damage.

Hello, my apologies for the late response, our message alerts were offline. - I'm sorry to hear about your struggle with your scalp. Thank you for sharing that—it’s an important question. Minoxidil is primarily designed for hereditary hair thinning. It works by prolonging the growth phase of genetically miniaturized follicles, but it does not repair the scalp itself. In cases where hair loss is related to scalp injury, inflammation, or repeated trauma (such as picking), minoxidil is often not ideal and can sometimes be irritating to already-compromised skin. In your case, supporting scalp healing and follicle environment repair is the priority before focusing on stimulation alone. Virtue’s Density Booster is better suited for this because it is not a drug treatment—it focuses on: Calming and repairing the scalp barrier Supporting follicle health and circulation Encouraging healthier regrowth where follicles are still viable If follicles have been permanently scarred, no topical product can regenerate them—but many people with trauma-related thinning see improvement once inflammation is reduced and the scalp is properly supported. Consistency and patience are key, and pairing scalp care with gentle handling (to avoid further trauma) is especially important. Was this answer helpful to you
Q
How is this product different than Rogaine 5% minoxidil?
Asked by Debbie
Official Answer By Virtue - Brand Engage
Hi,Rogaine and Virtue’s 5% minoxidil use the same FDA-regulated active ingredients. The difference is that Virtue surrounds that drug with a full support system that prepares the scalp, strengthens the new hair as it grows in, and helps reduce the irritation and breakage that often stop people from using minoxidil consistently. So you’re not just getting the treatment… you’re getting everything that helps the treatment actually work for you.”Was this answer helpful to you
Q
Can I use this all over my head? I have alot of hair loss. My hair is baby fine. Starting to Grey at the roots. Would this be a good product or suggest please? Also would like a shampoo/conditioner. Maybe with a dark brown color?
Asked by Carolk
Official Answer By Virtue - Brand Engage
Hello, you can use all over or just where you want to regrow hair. I highly recommend Virtue's Flourish Shampoo and Flourish Conditioner, we have dozens of clinicals showing the benefits of using them as a set. You can see the before/afters on Virtue's website. You also have a non-medicated option in Density Booster that works on all types of hair loss, not just hereditary based which is what Minoxidil is designed for.Was this answer helpful to you
Q
Ive read this is very toxic and even deadly for cats. I will be safely storing away the capped bottle and I dont plan on my cat licking my scalp but what other precautions should i take?
Asked by Gina
Official Answer By Virtue - Brand Engage
Pets licking Minoxidil is the greatest risk, even while you sleep. Be sure to wash your hands immediately after applying to your scalp to ensure you don't transfer it by contact. You also have the option to try our Density Booster. It's a non-toxic alternative to support regrowth which has very compelling clinical results, nearly identical to Minoxidil. Both are highly effective. Was this answer helpful to you

Works wonders on thinning hair!!!

I'm a 38 yo woman, and due to unfortunate genetics, hormone changes, aging, stress, and harsh chemical treatment throughout my 20s, I've had increasing issues with my hairline thinning over the last 4-5 years. This last year it became so noticeable that I suddenly felt self conscious wearing a pony...

Treatment

It's too early to tell if the minoxidil treatment works. Although the shampoo and conditioner work great, the minoxidil makes my hair dull and gives it a different feel. I like shiny hair and the treatment takes away the shine. I hope it's worth it. I'll give it the 3 months and evaluate then. Have ...

Working well

It seems to be helping. After 3-4 months I'm seeing more hair wisps back around my temple area and when I put my hair up there are fewer visible bare spots. I do go through it much quicker than it says for example I will use a can in less than a month. I wish you had larger sizes. I also use the flourish shampoo and conditioner and density booster spray so it's hard to tell which of the products is making the most difference.

One complaint

I've been using this for a couple of years and it's made a huge difference in the thickness of my hair. My only complaint is that the cap is incredibly difficult to remove and even more difficult to put back on. It annoys me enough that I'm probably going to switch to a different brand.

Flourish Minoxidil for hair growth

Submitted 4 months ago

By Sue

From Vienna, VA

I was skeptical about whether or not this product would work, but it does! I'm 55 yo, am menopausal, and started losing my hair a few years ago, especially around/near the temples. My hair has grown back and filled in around this area, but in other areas, I haven't noticed a difference, although I do admit I need to use this more consistently.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend

I have a lot of baby hairs coming in so I feel like the product is working. I also use the Topical Scalp Supplement (almost) daily, as well. The combination of both products seem to be working well. I've been using both products for 2 months.
